Spring inquiry
Spring inquiry
Background of my car: 07 with 72km or 42miles, all original suspension equipment.
So reading a few posts everyone seems to distance themselves from the springs route on their oem set up. The consensus stating that their shocks ultimately fail on them with an aftermarket spring installed with it. My question is, with me only having so many miles on her will it be a problem? Is the set up that bad? I have no intention of tracking the car so it ultimately used as a DD and doing this just for aesthetics reasons only ... And no I do not want to opt for coils as I do not have the patience to fiddle with my ride nor do I want to spend more than I need to. I just want it lowered roughly 1.5" and go.
I've had great experiences dealing with excelerateperformance.com so just looking at their spring catalog I have tien stech, eibach and h&r sport springs to choose from. Anyone have any experience with either of those?

In the first line of your post did you mean you have 42,000 on the car? Adding springs to your OEM shocks will reduce lifespan of the shocks but if you don't want to break the bank and you are just looking for aesthetics, then adding springs to a low mileage car isn't a bad idea. When the shocks do go, you can always replace them with an upgraded setup like Koni Yellows.
We've had experience with all of these types of springs, the two most popular being the H&R Sports and the Tein S.Tech's. Both are going to give you a decent ride but the HR Sports will lower just a tad more. I've always been a fan of Tein and the way they provide performance without sacrificing comfort and comfort without sacrificing performance. The Tein's also offer a much better price point. Better bang for the buck in my opinion.
