those tires are too big for a 3G TL. the stock tire size is 235/40/18. you can go bigger and put a 245/40/18 on but a 45 series tire is too big and will throw the speedometer off.

^Agreed.

I'm running 245/40/18 on my Gunmetal A-Specs. Stick to that.

45s is for 17s, u need 40s for 18s....

best combo is 245/40-18 great grip... 235/40-18 go home... no grip while takin corners at high speeds trust me!

Here's the factory recommended specs. The recommended tire pressure has been later corrected in additional spec sheet, it's about 3 lbs higher than originally posted. So, like Princelybug said, 235/40/18 recommended. But many people prefer 245/40/18 for that little extra protection and better looks IMHO.

Just wanted to add the diameters for comparison:
235/45-17 25.32"
245/40-18 25.71" +0.39"
245/45-18 26.68" +1.36"

Exclamation every year needs different tire pressure

Hi guys

I'm very very very very very strict about tire pressure and here you have the CORRECT tire pressure for the same tire in the same wheel but in different model year TL

If you bought yout 18" wheels when you bought the car directly from the dealer, they should had put a sticker on the driver door with the right pressure you should put on the 18" tires, but if you got your rims (acura or aftermarket) and for whatever reason you dont have that so called sticker, here are the numbers, taken directly from each 18" Aluminum Wheel owners manual.

2004 235/40R18 95W Front 39psi (270kPa) Rear 36psi (250kPa)

2005 235/40R18 95W Front 35psi (240kPa) Rear 32psi (220kPa)
2006 235/40R18 95W Front 35psi (240kPa) Rear 32psi (220kPa)

2007 235/40R18 95W Front 38psi (260kPa) Rear 35psi (240kPa)
2008 235/40R18 95W Front 38psi (260kPa) Rear 35psi (240kPa)

all of these years are 3g TL's but the weight of the car is different, the center of gravity is different and that's why the tire pressure for front and rear tires is also different.

Different tire size (width or height) means different pressure also, if you stick to stock size use this pressures, the closer the better, try to get Load factor of 95 or above, the closer the better, and speed rating of W or above, the Higher the better.

so what is the best method of finding out the correct tire pressure if you get a different sized tire (ex. 245/40R18) for the 18x8.5 gunmetal aspec wheels?

obviously the tires that we buy have a maximum PSI on the tire, but quite obviously we shouldn't be running around with 50-something PSI.

my question is where is the most reliable and accurate resource to obtain the correct tire pressure when not following the manufacturer's recommended tire size?
