A-Spec suspension uneven across rears?

Hey all,

Installed my suspension this past weekend with db252's help. (Thanks again!)

Is there supposed to be a slight difference in terms of the height? My right rear seems to be slightly higher (maybe 1/8" - 1/4") than my left rear. Do springs inherently have slight variances?

The fronts are equal.

It's probably because the springs haven't settled yet. Wait for 2 weeks or so and they should level off. And yes, springs can have some variances.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep on driving it and see if I can get it to level off.

Does anyone else have any experiences to share?

Lore,

Have you looked inside your trunk to see if you have stuff causing uneven loading? 1/8" is not that big esp. if something is sitting towards the back of the car where the levering effect can be significant on the suspension.

Hey dsc888:

I have a portable air compressor in the trunk and some misc things (small mag lite, paper towel roll) which I took out. It evened out a little but I'm still off by about 1/8" - it was 1/4" different before.

I'll give it a little longer.

Would anyone like to share what their height of their car with A-Spec suspension is? Much appreciated...

Lore,

What measurement are you looking for? (i.e. from the ground to the wheelwell?, or from the wheel to the top of the wheel well, etc.). I can measure it, if you tell me what info you are looking for.

If you guys could BOTH measure it from the ground to the tip of the wheel well, that would be great.

I just measured mine again and it seems like the right side of the car is about 1/4" higher up than the left side.

Can't figure out why that would be. Tires are inflated to the same PSI, nothing in trunk, etc.

Hey Lore, how much was installation for the suspension? Did u do it yourself? I am getting quoted 600-700 dollars for dealer installation. Should I just go do it at some third party shop?

Perhaps the floor where you are measuring is "tilted"

A quarter of an inch does not sound like a lot to me...

I did the installation myself, with the help of a friend. Took about 2 hours.

Jerry,

It is tilted ever so slightly right now, but when I measured it originally the floor it was on was level.

And the odd thing - shouldn't the car "lean" towards the side that is lowest? (Picture the car parked on a hill). Right now, the lower side is on the higher end of the tilt, which also makes no sense.

That probably means the tilt is insignificant and the discrepancy would be present on level ground as well.

Here my spec's, keep in mind I've only had the suspension (dealer installed) on for 4.5 days, but here you go. I also have the 18" A-Spec rims with Yokohama's EVs 100

Ground to Wheel Well:

RF 26 9/16 @ 38.5 psi
RR 26 1/4 @ 41.0 psi
LF 26 3/8 @ 40.0 psi
LR 26 3/16 @ 40.0 psi

Top of wheel to wheel well:

RF 1 3/8
RR 1"
LF 1 7/16
LR 1 1/4

I'm so glad you posted the question because I probably wouldn't have checked the psi so soon after delivery. The best is the "WARNING: NEVER INFLATE BEYOND 40 PSI TO SEAT BEADS" right on the wall of the tire. I don't know what seating the beads mean but I clearly know the dealer botched the tire inflation.

I let some air out but don't know what the proper PSI should be for these rims and tires. As soon as I correct it to specs I'll remeasure after 2 weeks or so and update. What is your PSI?

Alright, I finally gotten a chance to do the measurements. All of my tires are at 33 psi. I'm currently running oem 17" wheels & tires. Also, my suspension was just put in a week ago. From what I've read, it still needs to settle?

DF...............PF
26 9/16".....26 11/16"

DR...............PR
26 5/16".....26 13/16"
