A-SPEC rim vs. stock 17" GAS MILEAGE

I have a 2004 tl with the stock 17" alloys. I found a set of the hard to find gun metal A-SPEC rims part # 08W18-SEP-202E for sale. I was thinking about upgrading to these wheels and I was wondering if anyone else has and expericed a difference in the gas mileage who upgraded to these? I've read that they are significantly heavier than the 17" alloys but no comments made about the difference in mpgs. I drive 65 miles a day four days a week for work and my TL is my daily commuter.

I never noticed a MPG difference

I do think the stock wheels are lighter. Not by much but I think they are.

I saw no change in mileage when I switched from the 17s to the A-Specs.

Nothing changed for me....I actually think my mileage is better but that could be just a better all around tire I have on my Aspecs

Under similar driving conditions; I was getting 30mpg/city on my OEM 17" wheels. When I switched to the ASPEC wheels, I was getting around 18mpg/city.

There's no way the wheel switch yielded a 12mpg reduction in efficiency. There's something else in play there; not the least of which is the likelihood of error in calculating 30mpg city. 3G TLs don't get 30mpg in city driving. Maybe on a road trip (MAYBE), but not the city.
