The Aspec suspension was designed to give the TL better charactersitics in driveablility, handling and cornering than that of the stock suspension. Here's a quote from MT:

The A-SPEC's performance enhancers involve more aggressive suspension tuning, as designed by Makoto Tamamura, the famed chassis engineer behind Acura's NSX sports car. Most visible are the 18x8.5-inch alloy wheels and grippy 235/40VR18 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. They look great and provide a notable improvement in traction without being noisy. Unfortunately, there's no tire sidewall bulge to serve as a wheel-rim protector, so you're almost guaranteed gouges from curbside parking misjudgments. The rest of the underpinning mods include a track-tuned shock and coil-spring combo that lowers ride height by one inch. Special attention was paid to spring rate and shock valving to ensure sportier handling without the tradeoff of a harsh on-highway ride.
I think if you were to swap out the springs for a more aggressive drop, you would probably need to replace the shocks inside a year. You would have been better off with a set of coilovers or springs with aftermarket shocks. The members who have the suspension have also added the CT RSB say the TL handles better and are very happy with their setup.

I ran into the same issue with a-spec not providing enough drop visually, esp. the fronts. The rears actually look very good IMO. I currently have a-spec + comptech RSB. The car handles great.

I originally had comptech springs + RSB and had tirewear issues that were so noisy on a road trip after maint B tire rotation I had them rotated back 1/2 way through the road trip since I couldn't stand the noise. The comptech rears were where the tire wear was happening. Looks like comptech has a camber adjuster for the rears http://www.comptechusa.com/store/product366.html which the aftermarket shop I used should have installed but didn't.

I acutally like the look of a-spec rear + comptech fronts, so I'm thinking of putting the comptechs back on the front w/ a-spec rear. I've never heard of this being done so I don't know if an a-spec R/comptech F setup is feasible.
