A-Spec Kit & Replacement Shocks 2006 6MT

Hi,

I think I am about ready to pull the trigger on ordering the A-Spec suspension kit for my ride. Before I did I was trying to get a sense of what members have done when it comes time to replace the shocks? I have searched hi and low and it's probably out there, but I've had a hard time filtering through it all.

Honestly the A-Spec kit was kind of a unplanned purchase...needed new shocks, and once I poked around on here and then finding a kit online I figured why not spend a little more for something sportier with a firmer ride. I also plan to get the CT-Engineering/Comptech RSB. Definitely not looking for a big drop -- the less the better, but I like that the A-Spec was factory designed and tested specifically for the TL. At 100K I figured this will make the car like new again, rather better then new again.

So much for a new member who didn't plan any mods.

Thanks!

When I had my TL, I switched to the A-Spec suspension at about 60K; that combined with the CT RSB I already had on there made a huge difference. Honestly, I think you'll love it.

It is indeed awesome!

I was in the same position as you.
I was initially just looking to buy the stock suspension to replace my old one and I came across an amazing deal on 07 Type-S A-Spec suspension from a local member for $350 with 25k kms (15k miles) on them.

I love every bit of it except I'm still driving with one stock suspension in the front passenger.

The handling feels much nicer!

I still need an alignment done lol

I wish the A-Spec suspension would drop the car 1 inch all around. Glad it improves the handling though.

i put the aspec suspension kit in at around 52k mi. it currently sits at just over 56k mi. all i can say is that it reinvented the TL and renewed the love i have for my car. about 3mos after install, i put the progress RSB in...and WOW!! grinning after every turn or corner. not sure if you'll find a comptech RSB since they were discontinued. you might find one on the black market (i saw one recently on there in NY).

you won't really regret the renewed handling with teh RSB and the aspec suspension. the drop is ever so subtle, but the ride....is where it will shine the most. have fun!

I was actually surprised how much it dropped my car.

Definitely noticeable. Tight two finger gap all around with my A-Spec rims.

The plastic underneath my car scraped going down the 4 post lift.
My sideskirts almost scraped too!!!

Cool. I remember after I put TEIN SS coilovers in my 2006 TL manual with a new rear stabilizer how AWESOME it handled compared to just Eibach springs that I could not stand. That car handled better then my 2007 Civic Si...
