Spec help

Okay, so I know I'll probably get the search before posting shit for this, but I did search & it made my head hurt. Looking to get 19" Varrstoen ES2's this winter. (Storing car for winter) Anyway, I want the most flush look I can get. I know I'll have to roll my fenders, that's no big deal. Can someone simply explain the specs? 2004 TL, looking to get lowering springs for now. Thanks for any help!

^first, do you know your current stock specs?

if you know your stock set, you can kinda figure out how much to go.

p.s. the stock set is 17x8 +45
do you understand what this means?

and if you're on springs, a flush spec would be different than some one who is on coils and slammed.

Then I might as well just get some coilovers. I don't want to have to keep changing. But yes, 17 inch rims, 8 is the width. The 45 is where I get lost. The back confuses me also..

The offset of a wheel is the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel to the true centerline of the rim. A positive offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is positioned in front of the true centerline of the rim / tire assembly. This in effect brings the tire in to the fender well more. Conversely, a negative offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is behind the true centerline of the rim / tire assembly. This will cause the tire to stick out away from the vehicle.

VarrsToen ES2s?

Anyway, first thing to consider is Brembos. Do you have em? If you do, get ready for aggressive front. You'll need to get the 19x9.5 +22 and add a 7mm spacer for ending offset of +15. You'll also need a Skunk2 front camber kit.

If you don't have Brembos, then you'll probably just stick with a square 19x9.5 +22 square setup. This will be aggressive up front with a tad of poke and flush in back.

I'd recommend my setup to anyone, but VarrsToen discontinued the sizes some time ago.
