A-Spec Availability

Hey guys,

I understand that most of the A-Spec suspensions have been discontinued from what I have read. Are there any that have not been discontinued and are still available retail? I have heard the 05 MT set is the best; is it available and if not how do the available (if any) compare with the '05 MT suspension kit?

In addition to the suspension kits I'm interested in the ebony/satin A-spec rims for an 05-06 (Don't need the '04 gunmetals, and know for sure they are discontinued) but can't really seem to find them. Whats the word on them being available in the retail setting?

Thanks guys and sorry if I didnt search as much as I should have.

you can order either of these a-spec items brand new from many acura dealers. they may be disco'd but there seems to be plenty of stock still.

Thanks for the quick response, I haven't personally checked with my dealer, but have checked around on the online store via acura's website and haven't found anything for wither item, same situation with Delray Acura's site. Special order item only I guess?

Says its an A/T kit. From my understanding the manual kit provided a different drop and handling (Very good chance I could be wrong about this) and will actually fit an A/T car as well. I do appreciate the lookup though and if the M/T is the same as the A/T version or isn't easily obtained I will definately consider that item.

Thanks again for the responses everyone

the MT susp will drop the front more but only because the AT engine weighs more. so it's acheiving that extra drop by weighing down the springs/shocks by more than they were designed for. it will not give you better performance, worse actually. if you like the look tho, go for it.

Acura is required to keep parts for I believe 8 years after production, so I'm guessing 2014 is maybe when we may see it dwindle down a bit. But knowing honda, I doubt they'll cut down on production of it until the very end

Not a bad price at all. Considering they were around 700 from the dealership.

That explains it! Thanks! Guess I will be going for the AT susp at some point, especially if I can get it as cheap as that ebay link.

This is some pretty useful info as well. This apply to A-Spec as well? Otherwise how were they able to discontinue the 04 Gunmetal A-Spec rims?

FYI....the part number listed on ebay is the AT type S (older version). it will leave your non-S sitting higher in the front since the S is heavier, regardless of transmission type. 201A is the AT non type S (older version), according to my info.

6mt a-spec on a 5at will not hurt handling. It will take a little of the understeer out which is a good thing.

It will allow the front end to sit lower correct? versus the 5at a-spec sitting level.

Just a little. I think the difference is really blown out of proportion around here. Mine still sat just a little too high in the front and I had the 6mt kit on my auto. I've seen 6mts with the 6mt kit sit just as low as mine in the front.

If you have the choice and you want the extra drop, no worries in doing the 6mt kit with an auto. But in reality I think the difference is 0" to 1/4".

They replaced it with the ebony rims that were 18 x 8 the next year. I'm guessing that it became expensive to produce one 18 x 8.5 rim versus every other one being 18 x 8.
