I had the same wheels before on 18x7, +45 and 225/40 tires, no rubbing. If you consider brake upgrades like Brembo, you may need 18x8, but you probably will need to cut the rear tabs.

Don't do 8's..stick to 7". I had 17X8's(45 offset) with 235/45's on comptech drop, they rubbed in back(cured though by cutting the tabs), and rubbed in front in the inner fenderwell..

Curious, why get the 8 inch width only to run 215's? Wouldn't you rather have the lighter 7" wide and get more lip protection from the 215's?

njtls....I can't tell you if you'll rub or not, depends on the size and brand of tire, but I will tell you this, I wouldn't get a wider wheel if you have a choice, if you plan to run a narrow tire. I'd run at least a 225mm tire on an 8 inch wide wheel.

you know how the bumper tips (the forward sections) that form the rear arch, there is a small section where you can insert a screwdriver to remove a screw that secures this section to the fender. well, the tab is the ~1" area just forward of the screw.
