Shocks for Lowering

Im looking into lowering my TL and seeing as my OEM shocks are at 90k i would think it would be best to replace them and lower at the same time. I would prefer springs and shocks instead of coils. What OEM replacement shocks would be good? Would KYB GRs work(looking to stay cheaper than OEM)? Im looking at lowering (1.2.-1.5in)with H&R springs or Teins

Check out Koni, although not OEM replacements they offer features such as damping & different perch levels.

I have Koni Yellows with H&R sport springs. The Konis are on the lowest perch and my car dropped about 1.5". I have a manual, so the rear sits just a little lower than up front.

Why are you looking to go with a spring/shock instead of a coilover? If it's to keep cost down, a quality set of springs/shocks will often run you more than a decent set of coilovers. If you want to stick with springs/shocks for ride quality reasons, I'd definitely stick with Koni Yellows and maybe TEIN HTech or STech springs.

Would KYB GR-2s work with H&R sport springs? Does anyone have experience running this setup? Im trying to lower on a budget and deciding between Tein Basis Coilovers or if this GR2 setup would work.

Don't pair the H&R Sport Springs with the GR-2's. The GR2 shocks are designed to be oem replacements and aren't designed to handle a lowering spring like that. Stick with a Koni Yellow or if your budget is tight go with the TEIN Street Basis which we have for $531.
