Shelf life of suspension struts
How long could a brand new in box strut last if it was never installed and is stored in a house?
I have a chance to buy brand new struts that have been sitting for a couple years (never installed, new in box) in a house.
If you think the shelf life is short, what do you think the manufacturers do when they keep inventory?

I can't forsee any problem. You never know the production date of replacement parts when they are purchased. They last for years when on vehicles, so laying in a house isn't going to cause them to go bad or leak any quicker. I'm certain Acura replacement part aren't maufactured every year, so they will have a production run then sit for years.
