RWD cars with wider O.E. front flares.
For example the C63 coupe.
I was sitting infront said car today and looking in my mirrors I never noticed how much the front fenders flare out in comparision to the rears which look non existent.
From a perfomance perspective, what benefit is there derived from having wider rubber in the front, on a RWD car?
Also, where should we put lower offset/wider wheels to get the optimum performance on the 3G TL and why?

Wider front flares don't necessarily mean that there's wider rubber up front. Id imagine the limited space due to the engine make them need bigger flares up front where the rear your only limited by how much trunk space you want so you can afford to have a deeper wheel well. When I was looking at them a couple years ago I think I remember the fronts being 8" with 235s and rears being 9" with 255s..high offset though (C63).

to me, it looks SOOO dumb to have mismatching front and rears.
I understand race cars and muscle cars do it for straight line drag racing
but a street car looks soo dumb having a smaller skinnier set up in the front.
I believe the TL is an all around car. it handles very well and it also has a decent acceleration off the line.
i wouldnt want less traction going around a curve because one side isnt contacting the road like it should. thus why I like a square set up on the TL.

I agree I've always been a huge fan of square setups. I have a couple friends with cars over 700whp so I completely understand having to stuff a wide Dr on the back, but for 90% of the cars on the road a square setup would definitely be more beneficial.

Im pretty sure having a wider front tire is beneficial for handling purposes for the TL, as it is with most FWD hondas. It's nothing you'll notice until you push it to the limits of traction though

You still get better stability/more turn in grip even if it's not the driven wheel. I have 295 wide tires front and back on my RWD Impala. At the track I put a 225 tire on the front and slicks on the back.
