Rubbing problem on lowered suspension

Has anybody experienced or heard of any rubbing problems on TLs that has been lowered with 18, 19 or 20 inch wheels with 4 or 5 people in the car? Specially going through speed bumps? Just bought a 05 TL and trying to determine if I should have it lowered and change the wheels size to 18s or 19s. thanks all.

depends on how low you drop the car and what kind of suspension you get for the car. if you lower it alot then you will need a setup that is pretty stiff if you are going to put 5 people in the car. also how big are these people you are putting in? if they are robust fellas then you run the risk of rubbing, especially through hard turns.

For me, I have the Comptech suspension and 19X8.5" wheels. On the very first day I had the car, I have three very large people 230+ lbs each....while driving over railroad tracks and standard road hazards, no rubbing whatsoever. The only issue I had was that my mudgaurds were catching on some speedbumps...removal of the mudgaurds elminiated that issue.

I am able to take very hard turns, go over bumps at high speed, and drive with a full car and have NEVER had the tire rub on anything.

If you are going to get wheels, go 19 becuase I tried 18s and they just do not make much of a visual impact...even 19s don't look that big- see my thread- https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/end-93211/

As far as weight of folks riding in the my car, I would guess an average of 180lbs.
You are right though in term of the type of suspension that is installed.
I guess Comptech is a possible selection. VTEC=happines currently has it installed in his car without any problems with rubbing, even with 4 people in the car per his reply. I'll look into it. Thanks.
