Road noise with replacement tire

In March of 2007, I replaced all four tires with Pirelli Nero M&S tires. No road noise, great handling, etc. In May of this year, I had a bubble on one of my tires so I replaced it with a new Nero M&S tire (road hazard warranty). Now I notice a definite tire whine when I'm driving. Is this just because 3 of the tires are over a year old and the mismatch is causing road noise? Or should I bring it back to the dealer who mounted/balanced the tire? I considered purchasing two new tires instead of just replacing the damaged one but I figured I might be able to get away with one because I don't put that many miles on my car (probably 10-12K on the three original Nero tires).

Thanks in advance for any advice.

sorry to be a bit of ftopic on this .. but... I know I sure hear a lot of road noise with my stock Bridgestones!

I have been studying up on tires and many find the Yoko's to run quiet.

The increased noise might be from the three original Neros.
Most tires get louder as they wear; the UHP tires just do it more quickly.

Try moving the new tire to a different position to see if that affects the noise level.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I probably should have been clearer in my original post that the road noise began as soon as I replaced the damaged tire. I ordered it at the end of May but only had it replaced a couple of weeks ago. It would be awfully coincidental if it was the wear on the original three Nero's but I guess it's possible...

interesting. i have had my m&s for about 16 months, and have put on about 36k on them, and they are still pretty quiet. are you sure its road noise, and there isnt anything creating noise underneath the car, like something bent down or something.

i know, its a stretch, but just throwing out ideas.

does the noise come from underneath the car, or from one of the corners, like the corner with the new tire???

Been trying to pay more attention to it the past couple of days. It actually sounds like a hollow sound in the cabin when I'm not accelerating that I would swear wasn't there before I had the work done. In addition to replacing the tire, I also had the 3rd gear TSB and B Service done. I'm thinking about taking it back to the dealer to see what they say and to make sure I'm not just imagining things...
