I live in Houston TX and the roads are not that bad..although there are some major pot holes that will surely bend the rims. Here is the deal: I can get 4 firestone wide oval from firestone for around 300$ half off after i trade in my EL42 with 18K miles on them and the costs for road hazard insurance would be 80$ for 4. Does anyone think they are worth it? I usually buy tires online so i dont get the road hazard anyways.

Should i get it??

its not too bad if you goto have your tire patched up it will run anywhere from 10-15 depending on the place you go to. so if you get about 6 flats before the tires wear out its a deal and if the warranty cover permature wear that would be worth it

 

During the first year they gonna replace the tires and prorated after ward which we all know their prorated systems is whacked...they give u like 10$ for 10K miles...i wonder if they fix the flat tires for free like discount even without the road hazard insurance..

 

i just paid $60. thru Goodyear for 4 snows. i carry (and use) a plug kit in all my vehicles (yes, even the motorcycle) just because of all the garbage on the roads here in NJ. i'm betting that some time in the next 3 years and before the (measurable) useful life of the tires ends that i'll need to replace at least 1 of the 4. i don't use it for minor flat repairs, as i handle those myself until there is tire failure.

just make sure the warranty is w/ someone reputable (firestone?) and not some fly-by-nite warranty co.

what will it cost u if u have to replace a tire? costco just charged me $23.00 to replace a 35x12.50x15 on my Toy. the tire alone is worth $225.00 and had over 20k miles on it. the tire was simply no longer round. there were no signs of damage or puncture.

the pro-rated warranty goes by percentage of tread depth left. if the tire they're replacing is already bald you're sol, and will pay for most if not all the replacement cost.
