Rivets or no Rivets?
I've noticed the more recent wheels that have come out tend to have the rivets around the lip of the wheel.
Some seem pretty good when they are no too big and the same color as the wheel.
But some are nasty and just make the wheel look cheap.
I like them on some wheels, but mostly I don't.
What do you guys think about the rivets?

Mods? What mods? I can't afford mods, I'm getting married!!
Vin says 2001, but it's really a 2000 with an upgraded cupholder!!

All 3-piece wheels obviously come with rivets. Some will have black rivets with chrome being an extra $50 each like the Heidfelds. Other's will come polished or chrome, with other options for extra like crystal or superchrome.
Most 1-piece wheels will have black rivets or just painted to look like chrome but since they are not real rivets, it is not the real deal.
Like Slick says, my Altstadt's are coming with silver rivets cuz the wheel is part silver.

rivets are to identify multi-piece wheels, so in this sense, they are desirable. and rivets usually appear on the nicer, better quality wheels. but then we get to imitations/knockoffs that use the rivets to emulate multi-piece wheels (though they are not), and this is when they start to look ugly and give those other nicer wheels a bad name.
on real wheels, i LOVE them!!!

Some look good and some don't! I've gone thru 3 brands of 3 pc wheels and as a whole the looked great. I decided on clean looking, simple 1 pc style for my TL because of cleaning. I had enough of cleaning and drying each rivet! You gotta dry them because some of them will rust, even if they are quality wheels!
