rims...

I have a 2008 Base TL. I am looking into getting black rims for it. I dont know whether I should go with 19 inches or 20? I know bigger is probably better, but is there a major difference as in look with 19 inches vs 20 inches? Thanks alot guys!

Yes, there's difference... but probably hardly noticeable between 19s and 20s. You will see a difference between 19s & 22s. Not that I would suggest 22s on a TL.

Your car's performance will steadily decline as the wheel diameter goes up. Looks wise, it won't be too different, but you'll have to drop it more with 20's as opposed to 19's.

actually...with 20's u can't drop it too much...it'll scrape unless u roll ur fenders...19s are perfect...19s vs 20s depends if your car has a lip or if it's flat...it tends to look smaller with a lip

There are alot of people on here dumped on 20's. It is all about proper fitment, offset, tire size, and camber.

Yea I wouldn't recommend 20's on a TL. It's just too damn big for a car this size.

You just gotta know what your doing. if you dont know dont talk. you sir nailed it on the head. Id get 20's but im not going for mr baller baller. Im going for a VIP styled car. WIDE and low not tall and low. Dont get me wrong. if you SLAM a TL on 20's it looks so tight.

Bigger is not "better" unless you are filming a rap video. If you want better handling, get 18s. If you want to be a poser, get 20s.

are you serious?

you will probably find more black wheels available in 20s. not many wheel companies make wheels in 19s and especially in black. it's usally 17s, 18s, 20s, & 22s

i think the norm around here is 19s...

don't know what exactly you think he's serious about, but the info in this thread is mostly right. As the wheel diameter goes up, the performance does decrease a bit for straight line performance. But as well, cornering improves since there is less sidewall flexing. It would be 18's or 19's with the best performace. 20's would be a bit heavy unless they are forged monoblock wheels..

with 20's you will have to be pretty careful as a pothole can easily damage your rims as there is not much tire cushioning the imact. I think 19's would be your best bet,

VIP cars typically do have bigger wheels

I don't think performance matters if he's more into "show" than "go"...

Not dropping your car on 20's is the problem. Its wack and it looks hella poser. "Oh i got 20's to make the car looked drop'd". Kinda almost like fast and the furious bullshit, Dont even lower the car, just got some wack body kit to make the car seem lowerd. If you got 20's u gotta slam the car to really make them look tight. I really dont understand how u wont 1st place. Those other TL's must have been stock
