Rim bent. Mobile wheel repair?

I was driving back to Cleveland from Colorado today when, 40 miles from my home, I hit a huge pothole on the freeway in a construction area. My front passenger tire went immediately. I had to switch to the donut and limp the rest of the way home. My four-month old Devotion is bent at the lip, should be reparable.

Have you guys used mobile wheel repir services? In particular, http://www.mobilewheelrepair.com/ ? If so, did they do a decent job? Don't want to be without my car for any longer than necessary.

Never mind.

a) I found my own answer by doing a search (duh).

b) I sent the wheel out for repair to a reputable wheel shop (Blackburn's, in Macedonia, for you Cleveland locals) and they found a crack. Therefore, this $550 wheel is kaput and I have to buy another, and then only if Ron has this limited-edition rim in stock . In the meantime, I have to go back to the stock wheels .

c) Will be suing the state of Ohio for the cost of the ruined rim and the damaged tire. They have a standard complaint form to fill out, is it worth getting a lawyer over? Somehow, I doubt it for a claim of only less than $700.

Waaaaaaaaaaah! F'ing potholes.

Oof. That sucks! I had that happen to 3 out of five Falken Koblenz's. I can definitely empathize.

Man that sucks about your Devotions. They looked so good. I hope Ron can hook you up with another one.

As stated in your initial post... you hit the pothole in a construction zone. So technically the road is in the Possession/maintenance and operation by the Contractor doing the work. This means the State would not cover it, however, you could go after the Contractor since he has to have a General Liability Insurance Policy for the road during his construction. The typical deductable for such a policy is in the hundreds of thousands $$$$, so the contractor would typically settle it without contacting their insurance provider. I know 'cause I work for a contractor doing heavy highway projects.... and had many claims come to my field offices over the years....

Main concern to think about:
How would you prove that it happend within the construction site??? Did you have a state trooper stop and document you what happened???
