Review of Falken Ziex ZE-912
After a thorough search for new tires which weren't just reasonably priced but had great reviews from consumers and official reports like the Consumer Report that was recently released, I decided on getting the Falken Ziex ZE-912's.
First impression, its a great looking tire its bold and striking.
Second impression, so far I have driven just two days in these tires and let me tell you they are much quiter on the road then my old Bridgestone Turanza EL-42's, not to knock on the 42's they were great tires for sure maybe for the first 10,000 KM's but then you start noticing the wear/tear on them. The 912 has better reviews then the 42's officially and from consumers, has a better UTQG where the 912's are rated at 360-AA-A and the 42's are rated at 260-A-A and are priced at $140 (Canadian $) while the 42's are priced at $420 (Canadian $) respectively.
Also, the 912's feel stiffer on the road in a sense that they hold onto the road much more then the 42's, while in the 42's I used to get the feeling like im floating on the road or something. And it also rained recently and they handled perfectly as expected and I live in Toronto so their will be plenty of snow to test them but for now the jury is still out but hopefully they'll hold up well.
Now I personally haven't driven a TL with the Michelin MXM4 on them but my friend has one and from what I hear and from what I have experienced while riding in the car was that those tires were just as bad as 42's.
What Acura needs to do now is forget abt corporate contracts which big name companies like Bridgestone or Michelin and start targetting companies like Falken, Komho, Toyo and get them on board. As those tires are cheaper, better, and give you more life on the tires.
So hopefully this review has helped everyone who were wondering about the Falken 912.
Enjoy.

Nice review... I ordered a set 245/40 18 about 2 weeks ago when discount tire had that $100 discount... still haven't ridden in the car as it comes out the shop hopefully in a few hours... but I am very interested in testing them out... I've heard the sidewalls are mushy... but you say they hold well... I will update hopefully within a couple days... nice review though
245/40 18: total purchase price $368

Jimi the tires are really good on the highway you almost dont feel a thing when going over the speeds of 60 MPH (100 KM/H) because they stick so well to the road.
And Stillhere153 your right about the sidewalls i've heard that their mushy as well but I haven't noticed it that much. I dont call myself an expert in these things all I know is that these tires are better then the Turanza's but i'm gonna be going on a long drive so will update you guys on how well they hold at 80 MPH (130KH/H) as in Toronto we can literally drive that fast isn't it great? lol

Oh, one more thing, Jimi another pair of tires that I would also look into are the Kumho Ecsta ASX (KU21) their a bit pricier then the Falken's maybe around $30-40 more but i've heard great things about them as well.
Cheers on your tire shopping

just about any tire is 10x better than the stock bridgestones. Hell, even other bridgestones are 10x better. I have the re960 poles and they are light years better. Its all about the particular tire, not the brand. lots of brands have both good and bad tires.

Just as an update I've had the Falken 912s mounted on my Super Hiro's for the passed week... compared to the summer tires I previously had mounted (contisport contact2) the falken performed equally if not better for the way I drive, rode noise is held down to a minimum and grip is ideal for my style of driving, no more annoying loss of traction when I floor it aswell...
