Replica TL-S wheels....a few months later

Some people have asked "how are they holding up?"

Pretty damn well if I say so myself

Almost 7 months to the day

I've been toying with the idea of sandblasting them and powder coating them a nice silver.... But the more I look at it, I think they still look awesome. Decisions decisions

nah, waste of money IMO. The stock color they've tried to replicate is perfect.

I also think they'd be pretty bad-ass in 18" too

I didn't know they made replicas of 3G TL-S wheels. Glad they're treating you well!

It really is. It would cost you about the same or more to refinish or repair an OEM set.

Crap I would buy an extra set just to have before they go away for good. Only wish the color was closer to OEM specs.

I honestly think that if these replica wheel companies would make OE wheels in more aggressive sizes they'd sell very well. Any of the TL wheels in 18 x 9 +45 (mildly aggressive, fitting multiple tires, allowing for spacers, etc) would fly off the shelf IMO. I'd buy a set today.

About 8,000 miles so far...

And yes, OEM designs in a +1 size would sell like hotcakes

On my OEM type s wheels I've used the acura anthracite metallic touch up pen on those rashed areas. the reps are a shade darker so it might stick out

I have been thinking about buying a set of these. How is the handling? Have you noticed any difference in handling/sharp turns, etc. with these replicas vs your stockies??? The reason I ask is because I know that the replicas weigh quite a bit more than OEM type s wheels.

I didnt notice any diference at all while driving. They weigh a bit more than the stock ones but idk how much. Im gonna compare weigh as soon as i receive a replacement wheel i just ordered and i have the stocks sitting on my garage. I will post the results later next week.

You ordered a new wheel for that little damage? That doesn't look too bad at all and could likely be sanded and painted without much problem at all

OTOH, I guess a single rim is cheap

I will fix the other wheel but idk how good job will look so for now im just getting one wheel. Total shipping and tax came out $119 and change. Not bad i think. I will keep the other one as a spare.

I've decided to purchase these as well, in a couple weeks or so. Maybe even a bit sooner. Got a few questions for the ppl that have gotten these:

These will fit my 07 base without any problems correct?
-Has anyone tried to match the center caps to the wheels?
-For those who have the original center cap color, could you please post close up pics?

Thanks in advanced!

Just wanted to add that I have been looking for OEM type s wheels for a while now, and most people want 300+ for a set that has curb rash.

And I don't really care to buy OEM ones at this point, especially since living in Canada with our dollar being crap. Thanks to the OP for posting this, you convinced me to buy a set as well!

They are OEM sizes, so unless you modified your 07 in some wha, they should fit just fine!

My 04 does NOT have TPMS, but I think your 07 does. Ask about that prior to ordering.

The reason I mention that is due to the stock wheels (to the left) are slightly different than 05's with TPMS. The dimensions are the same, but the wheel, at the valve stem, is different

05s didn't have TPMS, but 06 did.

06 wheels have the indent on the valve stem.

I assume since the Type-S wheels are a replica, they would design it to accommodate TPMS also.

OTOH, people with 07/08s put on A-Spec wheels and 04/05 stock wheels with sensors without a problem.

Wouldn't mind picking up a set of these. Anyone know where to find some? I can't seem to locate any sets of 4 on ebay or wheels and caps dot com.
