Replacement Suspension Suggestions?

With 180K on the TL the rear shocks are done and need to be replaced. While I'm replacing them I figure I might as well do the whole car.

I'm not really looking to drop the car, I'm looking to keep the ride comfort fairly comfortable like factory but something that'll allow the car to handle nicely considering I have the comptech RSB already.

The A-Spec suspension is about 550-600 online for a complete setup that I can swap in. I'm not really liking this option because it firms up the ride but it easy to install. Are there any coilover type suspensions that are "pre-assembled" that I can use?

Also I was looking at going to a shop and having them take them apart and replace the shocks and use new bushings when reassembling. I think this might be a moot suggestion since the labor to assemble them and rebuilt will probably be at least 300, right?

I've been prowling the black market for a used 2004-2008 TL suspension but no luck so far!

I don't see why you would want a set of coilovers because those are only really for people that want to lower the car and have stiffer suspension, neither of which u want. I think you'd be super happy with a set of Koni Yellow shocks, they are adjustable and your car will stay the same height it is now but the ride will be much better. Look them up online and remember when it comes to suspension you get what you pay for.

For a daily driver without wanting o lower it, I would just say tokico blue shocks. they are very affordable. If you want to get fancy, theres koni yellows. Coils are good but most ride stiffer than stock, and its a bit of a waste if you're not planning to lower it at all.
Konis with stock springs is a better combo than most budget coilovers.
However, konis and tokicos will require removing the spring, but thats not hard at all.

The only new parts you MIGHT want, is top hat bushings. everything else(top hat, bumpstop, washers, dust boot) will last the lifetime of the car

Koni yellows aren't just "getting fancy" they are a big upgrade over the Tokico blue. And i agree, this is one of the few and far between times that i won't recommend coilovers.

I was looking into pre-assembled coil-overs because I don't want to deal with a spring compressor and rebuilding the whole thing. I just want to be able to swap each corner out and be done!

1. A-spec doesn't firm up THAT much IMO. It's gonna be softer than your BMW anyway.

2. Type S suspension all around? Springs age and "wear out" too right?

Well my only guess is go back to the dealer and buy a new factory set pre assembled
or ebay if you can find any. Like others said the koni yellows are the way to go. Yes
your will a bit lower, but I'm telling you your car will ride nice. it will be a bit firmmer, but
not like you think...the konis are a great set up.

Why not just take the shocks to a mechanic and get it all installed so you don't have the headache? I mean suspension is a big deal on any car its not something u just want to be "out and done" with specially if you care so much about how it rides.

If you aren't concerned about a drop, the ASPEC suspension is certainly worthy of consideration. I love it, and it was engineered for the TL. Shocks and springs in one, Acura quality, and it firms up the ride to where it feels more sporty, but nothing harsh. In fact, I wouldn't go back to the original suspension - the ASPEC is too much fun.
