Reformulated Bridgestone EL42s

Can somebody tell me if/when Bridgestone reformulated the EL42 tires?

I have seen alot of complaints about these tires and don't find them
to be that bad and are certainly better than tires I've had on other
cars (especially in the wet). Haven't used them in snow - that'll
be the tell-tale. I also have only 3000 miles. Very quiet tires
(or is that the car mostly?) - very good ride overall.

I wasn't sure where I read it, either here or Tirerack.com,
but thought it was mentioned that the tires got a reforumulation
from Bridgestone. My car was made in the Apr 04 timeframe.
How much was fixed by this reformulation?

I don't drive the car really hard, I want a comfortable ride that
will be decent in modest wet/snow. For the future, any recommendations
for switches people have made - that have had the car in the snow?

Tirerack reviews seem to like some of the higher-end Bridgestones
(EL750, EL950?).

I moved your thread to the Tires sub-forum so you will be close to the tons of information that has been produced on the subject of your posting.

Also, this thread from the 3G Garage will tell you a lot of stuff http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84545

Also, use your own judgement about how the tires feel to you. Many people have reported that they were satisfied with the EL-42's, both the old version and the new ones, many were not satisfied with either, etc.

Disappeared "0504" is watershed btwn OLD EL42s and so-called "new" EL42s...

Old Turanza EL42: OB6N PVC, 0404 or before
New Turanza EL42: OB6N TU2, 0604 or after

Did I write this into GARAGE? I think I did, right?

I had "old" ones (0803 or 0903), and new ones (0804). Both were awful (even after high-speed balance).

I've driven in a car with very new ones (1004) and they appeared to be slightly better. I still prefer my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's.
