Unhappy RE730 & TLS

I read all the comments on this site regarding the Bridgestone RE730s, and I decided I'd replace the stock tires on my 2wk old TLS with them. I decided on the 225/45-17 ones, and ordered them from tire.com. They then called me, and told me they won't sell them to me, because they don't have the right ratings for Acura, or something like that... anyone else heard of this? I thought about the 225/50-17, but RE730 don't come in that size - is there another tire just as good in that size that you guys can recommend to me? I'm in Austin, TX so I don't need all-weather tires. Thanks for your help.

Cool

You should have ordered them through www.autocarparts.com.

What rating are you talking about?

I was told it had something to do with the RE730s in that size not supporting enough weight. I told him fine, I'll take my business elsewhere, but it made me think that I shouldn't get a smaller tire at all. Also, I don't want to increase the gap in the wheel well... should I go for the 225/50-17 in that case? I've got the stock wheels on there.

Ultra performance tire won't come in anything less than a 45 series. You could go all-season and jump to the 225/50 or just get the 225/45 from autocarparts.com.

Tire-Rack has liability issues and won't sell you anything out of their specs. They will work fine.

I am in the same boat and am looking if 235/45 will fit. If not I am getting the RE-730's in 225/45 as well.
