Quick Tire Input Needed

Hey guys,

Saw these tires on an ebay store, Yoko Avid W4S's. Look like a good price, and the seller is right around the corner from me. I know these tires will fit, but I was wondering if there will be any additional sidewall flex, and will they look a little tall?
Thanks for any input,

JJ

The Tire Rack sells them for $114 each PLUS shipping, so that's a great price. They have the widest tread width of the UHP A/S tires at 9.2" (245/45) and a great all around tire, but not the greatest in snow, but that's no different from the rest of the tires in that category. That tire is the size I have, and recommend as replacement size on the TL at @ 25.7" tall, the OE Michelin is 25.4" so not much difference.

I believe I have these tires on my wifes Saab 9-5 Aero. Have been fairly good tires. I had to drive them 120 miles last year Superbowl night in a serious but unpredicted snow. I was impressed as I moved along at my speed (reduced of course because of the snow) but much quicker than anyone else on the road. Looking at the tread you wouldn't think it is an all season tire. Can't say much about limit handling..wife is usually with me when I'm driving...but no complaints. See if you can get a break for not having to ship but be aware of " state sales tax".

Love freedom, hate taxes

I'm riding on those as well. I've had them for only 3,000 miles, but so far so good. I'm very happy with the performance, and I hope they stay that way.

Thanks for the additional info. Can't wait to get rid of these F1's put on by the PO. It sounds like I am driving a freakin dump truck!

Update

Finally got the new tires put on today. I was originally looking for stock size, but when these came up while searching on Ebay, I couldn't pass on the price as the guy was local.
These Yoko Avid W4S in 245/45/17 are freakin wide! The shop owner was real cool, and gave me an out the door price of $449 installed. These tires are super quiet, and I feel I wasted 10,000 miles of my life riding on the F1's, which handled extremely well, but were way too noisy. I am more than happy to sacrifice some grip for peace and quiet (hopefully they will stay that way). Below are a couple of pics
Thanks again for the input,

JJ
