Question on Koni's

picked these up off another memeber a few months back and am getting ready to install them. I noticed that one of the plastic tabs on one of the shocks is missing (see pic). Can anyone tell me if I need it to install?

thanks for the help.

they are dust covers. but since the factory dust boot is there, I'm sure you're fine.

the one thing, I SEE that is missing is bump stops.
you need to add the bump stops.

if you hit a pot hole at a pretty good speed, the shock will compress BUTT will have nothing to stop it.
it could damage the car and the shock.
I would add bump stops, right away.

Also, you will need tophats.

You can definetly re-use your stock top hats .... but you might have to drill out the washers (or Type-S bushings) to fit.

Not sure about the bump stops.

yes you can.
I was just telling you what was missing, because you asked.

if you plan on re-using your stock bump stops and top hats, then just disregard.

also, you'll want to cut about an inch off of the stock bumpstop.

FWIW, when I was running these shocks, I used the stock bump stops without cutting them and they were fine. I agree with Justin...the white dust guard isn't totally necessary. I have OCD though and would have to buy one from Koni so both sides would match.

Thanks!
agreed, I dont even touch my bumpstops with the aspec springs. so, with that being said, I'm sure if i left them alone, they would be fine.

if you're lowering more than an inch with your springs, i would cut them tho

I had the Koni's (lowest perch) with Neuspeed Sport springs with uncut bump stops and the drop was probably 1.75" or slightly more.
