Question Question

I still have the original tires on my 04 tl. I need to replace them but Firestone said they were $288 per tire. I only have 14 months left on the lease and really don't want to spend that much, maybe $150-175. I would like all season sporty looking tires that Acura will accept when I turn the car back in...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Michael

Since your lease is up soon, get the cheapest tires you can...no need to waste good money. I don't believe Acura cares what tires are on the car as long as they're not worn out (probably some clause in the lease specifying X amount of tread left).

I leased a 2001 CL back in the day, and they measured the tread left on the tires. I didnt even have to replace the original tires at the end of the lease since they still had decent tread left. They say that the type of tire should be comparable to what they orignially put on there if you need to replace them, but I know my father turned in his Accord not too long ago and put on the cheapest tire he could find and they never said anything. The best bet is to ask the dealer you will be turing the car into before you buy anything so you dont wind up getting charged at the end of the lease. My dealer told me straight and never had me buy anything that wasnt needed. I can't vouch that all dealers are like that, but mine was cool.

I suggest you find another tire shop because they are taking you for a spin.

I suggest a cheaper tire, like a Yokohama, Toyo, or Kuhmo.

Thanks guys, but I'm looking fora little more specific information. Name brand, Size, Type, etc. Maybe prices to expect.
On-line is not an option. I really do not have patients to lug tires around to have them installed. Would rather walk in to a tire place with a type in mind...
Any more suggestions?

Research on Tirerack first to know what tires cost how much. Then you can start calling shops. Tirerack actually can drop ship the tires to the shop of your choice, too, so no lugging tires around.

You're going to use stock size. Check Sumitomo HTR Z or HTR Z II, General Exclaim UHP, Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 to name a few. They all should cost you around $100 each or less. They all have W speed rating so you're fine. Toyos, Yokohamas are more expensive.

If you need all season tires, go with Kumho Ecsta ASX, Sumitomo HTR+, or Fuzion HRi. They also cost around $100 each.

In addition, go to Tireracks site, plug in your year, make, and model. It should come back and tell you that you need 235/45R17 tires.

Like the above poster said, when you check out they will give you a list of shops in your area (they will even post their labor prices). If you choose you can have your tires drop shipped to the shop you choose. When you tires are in, then go over to that shop and have them installed.

I just looked, and they have a:

Conti Procontact: $122 each
Pirelli P6: $130 each

Everything else is $175 plus.

If this doesn't work for you... I don't know if you have Discount Tires in your area. You can shop on their web site. Get the full quote including install and everything and just go into the store and give them your online quote.
http://www.discounttire.com/

I'm looking at their site, and they have:

Falken Ziex ZE-512: $108 each
Kumho Ecsta 711: $112 each
Kumho Ecsta ASX: $115 each
Cooper Zeon 2XS: $120 each
-plus more

Take your pick
