Pulling the Trigger on Penta's

Here is the situation that i am in. The setup that i want is 19/8.5 +35mm front and 19/9.5 +40mm rears. The wheel shop i am going to buy from dont have the that setup in 5x114.3. I know i would need to use a 5mm spacer to clear BBK. Now here is what the wheel shop has, 19/8.5 from +30mm front and 19/9.5 +40mm rears but they are in a 5x112 setup. They are willing to drill the 5x112 to 5x114.3 to make it fit and a 5mm spacer will not be needed at this point. Is this something that i should do or wait til they bring in the 5x114.3 wheel setup. The drilling of the 5x112 to 5x114.3 is going to be done by AXIS themselves. What should i do? $1500 for rims shipped is a damn good deal too. Thanks

Just my thoughts, but I'd avoid messing with the original integrity of the wheel at all costs. 2 cents.

AXIS is doing a full warranty on finish and structural integrity. Is that still a bad idea.

Hmmm...it's not like they're making a whole new mold for you...but, they are fully warrantying their work.

If you really want it, then I say go for it. The warranty is the key. Make sure you get it in writing.

There are several people on here who have drilled their hubs to match the bolt-pattern. As long as you don't run over big potholes, I think you should be OK.

Peace of mind is big, though, that's why I would avoid it, personally.

true, but if they are going to warranty their work than it should still all be good.

O

dont do it man... and honestly, $1500 shipped isnt THAT great of a price on Axis Pentas AT ALL... they can be bought for like $325-$350 a wheel shipped - $1300-$1400

and you can order them in the size you want/need

EDIT: just noticed your in Hawaii.. that probably makes shipping a bit more intense... but still, i dont think you should re-drill the PCD

yeah i wont do it and shipping to hawaii is about $300 plus he was throwing in everything needed to mount the wheels. 5mm ichiba wheel spacers lugs and hub rings. So this is a very good deal for me in hawaii but i guess i will have to wait to the end of February since AXIS wont wheels until end of February. Thanks alot
