Powdercoating
I'm debating whether to spray paint or powdercoat my aspecs. I've tried searching but couldn't find the advantages of powdercoating other than lasting longer under harsh conditions. I have painted stockies and they held up pretty well during this harsh winter.
So my question is, what are some advantages of powdercoating other than lasting longer?
and if anyone knows good places that powdercoat wheels for a good price lmk
I plan to use these only during summer time.

the benefits of powder coating are :
•Forms a protective "SHELL" over your wheel
•Ultra tough, wont scratch or chip easily (until you break the shell seal)
•Virtually fade proof
•Long lasting finish. Expect to get 5-10 good years out of a powdered finish. (Painted & Clear Coasted will last maybe 3-5 without degrading)
Only drawback is if you smash into a curb. The finish will slowly chip away in that area.
EXPECT TO PAY around $50per wheel
I can do your set if you live near CALI. I have a shop that has powdercaoted 6 sets of wheels for me.

what he said ^^^
$50 a wheel is a pretty cheap quote. i got 4 18x8's in a candy coat for $225 out the door. thats a powder coat of "chrome" with the color you choose over it, which i advise to everyone. candy coats double the amount of protection the wheels will have.
plus you can then wax/polish them so that you can just rinse brake dust off.
and here's a picture of the wheels i had done, candy purple....
and with flash, same settings on the D90 otherwise
as you can see, they are very dynamic in different types of lighting...much better than painting, and you can really tell by te depth of the color.

I only had one experience with PC and it wasn't very pleasant. The place might just have not done a good job, that or combined with the fact that I ran the wheels in the winter time. The finish just chipped away where the frontward facing portions of the spokes met the barrels.
To be safe make sure you choose a reputable shop and you might want to ask around about whether it's a good idea to run them over the winter months.
