For plasti dip, you first paint them in flat black and then the gold. I'm getting ready to do my 350Z rims in the sparkle silver. There is a DIY vid on youtube. Just search for it. Looks really easy.

I considered doing this to my wheels or even going the Duplicolor route, but ultimately, I decided to get them powder coated. It definitely costs A LOT more money than Plastidip or Duplicolor, but the durability of the finish is unbeatable.

Also OP, if I had to vote on a color for your WDP, I'd say bronze!

I think the stock color of the Type S wheels is gorgeous. I'm not a fan of the plasti-dip wheel look.

As do I, but I am thinking about dippin my rims flat black only to match the CF hood. The cost to paint my hood WDP is ridiculous. So if I can't beat it, JOIN IT!

I have a base WDP and I duplicolored my stock TL wheels in a Honda graphite gray, I think the color is fabulous. But then it is my car.

I just plasti-dipped my TLS wheels. I used the true Metallics from dipyourcar.com and it looks really good. I will let you know how they look in a few weeks or so. I did put 2 modest layers of "glossifier" on them, so it might help make it look better longer. But really, the glossifier is really satin. It's not a high gloss. I suppose if you put more layers on it, it may look a bit more glossy. Maybe someday I will add a few more layers of glossifier. But I am not sure if I can do that several days after the initial application. Anyway, I went with the Aluminum, not the anthracite or gold. It looks great. It adds a lot of bling to the typeS look, but sort of has a hint of base TL at the same time because of the lighter color. I was glad to see some of that come back because I never did like the dark wheels on my dark car. Just too much darkness. I need more bling. haha

What is there to help? What kind of roads you driving on that will cause them to wear them out? Either dip them and see how it goes or powder coat them. If the dip turns out bad like you think; then remove it. It is reversible.

At the Lake last weekend for my weekly 10 mile run. But you are right, it was cheap. Only $70 or so.

Well dont pick on my car. If you dont like emblems or other things when the subject is plastidip, then zip-it. Plus I wouldn't be calling a persons car 'Rice' in a forum where many owners are Asian. Every person I sold to was either hispanic or Asian with the exception of maybe 2 guys. So, Rice is not a very friendly term. Besides, my car is total quality. It's not cheap if that is what you are getting at.. so flame away!! Get mad. Just look in the mirror next time to view the problem.

The badges just look tacky and out of place. It's not a Type S and doesn't have any noticeable Aspec parts. And it sounds like you're the one who's mad, not me.
