Painted Type-S Wheels Pic Request and Advice!

Hey guys.

I'm super disappointed in my wheels. When I bought them, two of the wheels were slightly curbed. I had them sanded down smooth and I used Dupli-Color Graphite Gray Metallic spray paint (several coats of primer and color, several coats of clear). Originally, it looked like a near perfect match. After it all dried though, the painted two ended up much darker than the stock Type-S color (much darker in person than in the pics). For right now, I have the darker two on the passenger's side and the lighter stock ones on the driver's side. And today I realized that the darker paint is beginning to chip as well.

I think I like the stock "Hyper Silver" color better, but I'm not sure what I can do at this point. Should I paint the last two stock ones darker gunmetal as well? Paint all four a different color? What do you guys think?

Any pictures of painted Type-S wheels would be great. I was debating on just painting them all black; but I'm not sure.

Here are a few pics of my car.

Original wheel color:

Don't do black! Gunmetal is a great medium between black and silver. I say take all 4 wheels and paint them all the same color.

Have them all painted the same color, whatever color you decide. I would have them professionally powdercoated!

OP I think silver Type-S wheels would look great on your car. Your car is already a dark color so light colored wheels would give an awesome amount of contrast.

I agree. When the type s wheels are lightest, (at certain angles) is when I like them most. But the hyper silver (which is what a wheel shop told menthe finish was called) is amazing. I wish possible to set them back to factory.

Hmmm. Something for me to think about.
