OUCH! Wheel cracked
Well...went out to the 3 month old Anthr/Gray/Auto last night and noticed the tire was flat. Put the donut on and took the tire in to be filled....and look for a hole. Well, the good news is the tire is fine. The bad news is that the wheel is cracked! I hit a bad pot-hole about 2 months back right after I got the car which must've caused an initial crack that eventually got worse. !&^@*&^*&!^ QUESTION: What am I looking at for a new wheel? $250 or so sound about right?

Go to eBay, you may be able to get it from someone that removed the stock 17s and put 18s on. I would sell you one of mine (I have the 18s) but do not want to sell them piecemeal.

Probably much worse if you buy it new from Acura. For reference, when I bent the rim of my Alti's wheel, Nissan wanted $400+ for a stock replacement.

Call to some local dealers. They have takeoff sets from cars that are upgraded with A-Spec packages or for people who want upgraded rims. I found a dealer in NYC area who would sell me a new take off rim for $165. I eventually bought a slightly scraped rim from another dealer for $39. It came off of a demo which was sold. The damage was so minor that it made it a good buy. Based on what I've seen on this site, you wil eventually scrape your rims on potholes or curbs. I wouldn't spend $300 for a new rim unless absolutely necessary.

This points out the reason for checking tire pressures regularly - an under inflated tire is much more likely to contribute to a bent/damaged wheel if hitting a hole - particularly true with the low profile tires as found on our machines! I run into guys who have had this happen quite often on motorcycles - a small drop in temperature means a substantial loss of pressure (Boyle's Law?) since the total volume is quite low.

dont even get me started on this subject, i already bent 2 and cracked one,
same thing happened with my tire, so i brought it to the mechanic and he found the crack
in the rim, so far this car has cost me alot of unecessary rim cash.
