Opinion on Firestone Firehawk SZ50?

I'm looking for a summer wheel in 245/45/17 for street use only.

Opinions?

are those still in production? i know there is a version of them that were put out of production 2 years ago, and stores around toronto are trying to get rid of the stock

i considered them for 2 seconds, before going with the bridgestones

I dunno, I'll look into it.

Problem is I don't want to take a bath on trading in my stock wheels for 245/45/17.

I'll admit that my main concerns in upgrading are tread life and the size (as opposed to having the ultimate handling for the track). I just think the stock 215 tires look to skinny

Can you recommend a tire that fits that criteria for less than $200 Cdn per tire?

if those cost 200cnd per tire, then they are definately out of production. i guess if you need a tire for really cheap, theyre the only solution

My friend had those on his 240SX before and they were excellent. A would say that they are a good buy! I would get them if they came in our size!

Yeah, I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Firestone Firehawk SZ50 for $200 Cdn or the Kumho 712 for $179 Cdn each.

Both are 245/45/17 which fit on the Cdn TLS wheels hehe

Spend the extra $21 per tire and go with the Firehawks. My mechanic swears that those are one of the best all-season tires around.

The SZ50's aren't all-season tires.

I meant good all-around - like wet and dry traction.....my bad.
Hate to see how you'd respond if I spelled something wrong.

Sorry, didn't mean it that way! I thought you might've gotten it mixed-up with another model!
