Offset and Bore Sizes, etc...

just got my TL and am considering upgrading the wheels. It's a base '06 and am considering 18x8.5 wheels.

What is the recommended offset for aftermarket rims? is there a recommended range in offset so as to avoid issues w/ rubbing, etc?

what's the offset of the factory 17" rim?

also, is the hub bore size for this '06 64.1 or 67.1 (i've seen both sizes listed)

Thanks in advance...

OEM is 17x8 and 45 offset
Hub bore is 64.1

Souljah's opinion:
Go no lower size than 18x8
19'' looks the best
Go atleast +40 offset or lower
Offset depends purely on you. Lower the offset, the more aggressive the stance.
Offset directly correlates with width of wheel.

I don't think that is right .. you can have different offsets with the same wheel width. The wider the wheel does offer more options tho.

so what is everyone's opinion on the use of spacers to modify the offset? the wheels i'm looking at are 18x8.5 +48 offset...lets say I get a 10mm spacer kit, does that get me to +38 offset? how many folks on here are running these spacers? Are they safe? Any issues to be aware of with them? does the fact the it's a 8.5 wide wheel make it different than if it was an 8 wide wheel w/ +48 offset?

Offset directly correlates with width of wheel, therefore an 8" +48 wheel is the equivalent of a 8.5" +42 wheel.
