offset for 2000 TL
#7
I have tested out many wheels on my TL, this is when I had Comptech Springs.
18x7.5 40 and up will work
18X8 42 and up will work
18x8.5 45 and up will work
19x8 44 and up will work
19x8.5 never tried
20x8 47ot If they could be found almost definately will fit.
20x8.5 w/47 rubbed due to tires 245/35/20 is the smallest. These probably would work if their was such a tire as 225/35/20 or 235/30/20
You really are better off staying between 45-50ot Keep in mind the higher the offset, the farther out the center off the rim is, therefore less support for the wheel, and the less of a lip you will have.

Understand that there really are two completely separate considerations here:
1. Will it fit without rubbing?
2. Will it screw up steering response?
Most folks only think about issue # 1. A good handling car not only has good cornering capability, but possesses predictable and smooth steering response as well. Does it wander off center? Does it turn in quickly with good road feedback? Materially changing the offset screws up years of research into what makes a FWD car provide better steering feel. Honda prides itself on the use of negative scrub radius steering geometry and the attendant advantages. Depends upon your priorities - looks vs feel.
