I have an 06 TL with the original warranty and the coatings of all 4 17" OEM wheels are starting to peel off. Anyone with this problem?

 

Do you use wheel cleaner spray on your wheels? If yes the harsh chemicals over a period of time eat away at the painted wheels. It happened with my OEM wheels a couple of months ago. I had to get them professionally repainted and they look good as new now.

 

Acid based wheel cleaners will destroy the finish. You are better off just washing the wheels with the same car wash shampoo you use on your paint.

 

The paint on my A-Specs have been chipping and peeling like crazy recently. It drives me crazy but considering they are 6 years old, I'm not really surprised.

 

Yea my clearcoat was been coming off ever since I bought my car. Every time I wash it a little part chips off here and there. But it is no big deal to me because after I wash it it still looks great.

 

I bought my car Acura CPO so I don't know what the previous owner used. Anyone tried to get it replaced under original factory warranty?

 

I have an O4 ASPEC and the paint on the wheels is chipping like crazy. I wash it once a week and don't put any special cleansers on the wheels. It started about a year ago and hasn't stopped yet. I'm thinking of getting them powder coated in the next few weeks, because it makes the car look cheap and not well taken care of.
