OEM TPMS sensors dont fit aftermarket wheels

Soooooooo I just got my oem sensors in the mail today and they dont seal tight against the valve stem hole on my new aftermarket wheels (ag m310). In the pic below you can see the gap between the rubber grommet and the washer/nut that goes on the outside of the wheel. That gap is too big and the nut is as tight as it gets in the pic. My question is... Can I just use a washer on the outside part of the wheel to get it to seal tight since the actual sealing surface of the rubber grommet is on the inside? So it shouldnt cause any issue with holding air? Im pretty sure I got the correct oem sensor #06421-S3V-A04. I am supposed to get my tires mounted monday so I need to figure out how to fix this asap

a washer likely wont work since the material has to be soft enough to create a seal. thats why the nut on the tpms is somewhat soft where it contacts the rim. maybe try finding another nut that can fit on the tpms sensor? or modify the existing nut or valve steam so it can fit. the reason it doesnt go down all the way is the nut depth isnt deep enough

Inside the nut there is something stopping it from threading on all the way. It looks like a little ledge. I could probably drill it out but im afraid i might damage the threads on the nut.

worst scenario, use a tap and die to fix the damaged threads.

Thanks paperboy. I took your advice and "modified" the nut. I used a precision bit on my dremmel and ground the ledge inside the nut down flat and now the nut threads on all the way and my tpms sensor fits nice and snug!
