Novice question on rims and tires.
Sorry if this is a dumb question or just obvious....but I'm relatively not knowledgble about this thing.
I have a 2001 TL-P. The tires are 16". I'm planning in the future to put larger tires and wheels, maybe 18 or 19 inch tires.
I was wondering, do I have to lower my car before I add these larger tires??? Because I don't want my car riding like a SUV. Or will just leaving the suspension alone and adding larger tires just take up the remaining space between my stock tire and the wheel wall??? Would I also have to get some realignment work done??? Please break down for me the entire process.
Also, does lowering your car and do other miscellenous suspensions mods void the warranty???
Confused over here.....
Any help or advice you guys can give would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Well, in my opinion, if you like comfort and still want a stock/sport look, get a set of CL-s 17" wheels. They are half inch wider than the TLs wheels. And will fit perfectly on your car.
If you want a bigger wheel and a slightly harsher ride, get a set of 18" wheels. They'll fit too, make sure you get the correct offset. I beleive anything over +45mm offset will work.
I won't lower my Acura. I personally like the stock ride and the fender gap after rim install does not look all that bad to me on the TL's. But that is just my opinion.
All I can say is utilize the search function on this site. I am rather new to this board, but all of these folks seem to be very knowledgeable about these Acuras and the galleries will help you get an idea of how your car would look like.
The best thread that will help you would be right here. All the wheel and tire info you can ever think of is here..plus pics..check out this thread link
