Newbie to lowering world need info

Hey guys i dont know much about lower, heres my question. I wanna maybe eventually upgrade my rims to 18" or 19" but probably 18". I have a 07 TL-S. I basically right now want to keep my cars handling the same, i dont need stiffer suspension. But i would like to lower it not more than 1.5" My friend also told me they can counter weight the drivers weight, so the car sits more evenly when its just me. What do i need for that?

How do i do this properly? What do i need? Do i just need lowering springs? When i get the springs installed do i need an alignment after? Will i experience wheel rub if i lower 1.5" with a 18" rim? I want to do it right the first time... I dont want my car to toe or camber like i see some others. Please help.

aspec suspension + rear sway bar

eibach or h&r sport springs

How do i do this properly?
have someone who knows what they are doing install

What do i need? Do i just need lowering springs?
yes

When i get the springs installed do i need an alignment after?
yes

not if the wheels is 18x8.5 +35 and your tires are 245/40-18

to avoid "camber" you need an ingalls camber kit... will a 1.5" drop cause this sort of camber... no... jsut get an alignment and make sure your toe is at zero degrees

thorough enough I hope

I believe that the weight distribution that you are talking about is something that mainly pro's do to their suspension. There is no absolute need of that for you, since u are most likely driving this car mainly for comfort, goin around places. In order to do that, i think you might need to find a shop that knows how to do this. There is a specific term for this, but I totally forgot what it's called

wish u the best/.

A guy at worked told me if i dropped my car i would need shorter shocks otherwise the life of them will decrease dermaitcally, is this true? I just want to drop it a 1.5" with springs and a rear camber kit. Will i be fine going this route or do i need to change other suspension parts too?

I've been on H&R Sport for a year - shocks are fine. 13k miles. They may wear a little faster, but it's not like they are shot the next week.

H&R Sport Springs plus Progress RSB plus TL-S = great combo.

They make Race springs.

OP you should look into the Neuspeed Sport Springs as well. They give a modest drop, and keep a close to OEM feel.

With my last car replacing the shocks and struts were a must. People who didn't, ended up replacing them within 15k miles. I would say get new shocks/struts and replace them at the sametime, so you only have to take the suspension apart once, instead of twice.
