New wheels - XXR 526

I just put 18x9 +35 xxr 526 in chromium black on my 06 acura tl AT

The tires are dws 235/40/18. many thanks to RickyPounds/murph145 and others for so much help. Azine site is great and has so much info

Honestly, I think the wheels looked a bit better off the car than on, but am still happy with the outcome

My apologies for the dirty car and iphone pics. I wanted to get some pics out relatively quickly

The car needs a drop, I want to get h&r sport springs next to reduce wheel gap. I'm still not sure about swapping out shocks. There's 47k miles on the car

sorry not feeling those at all. I think that XXR has much nicer wheels in their line up. They look like cheap wanna be BBS wheels, when there are LM replicas everywhere that look so much better than those ones. SOrry

Listen to the murph145 and swoosh! Yours are XXR's, no reps. Just a matter of some mods. Next time go with 245/40/18's, the car will handle them without a problem. Go lower, you can use the A-Spec suspension, it will drop about an inch, or many other affordable alternatives, and it should make a big difference to the look and handling of the car. Also consider the A-Spec kit, it helps that look your looking for! Bear in mind you want to fill the gap as much as possible with the right tire size and suspension! The car looks good!

Sorry about recommending the A-SPEC Kit, I was so focused on the wheels I oversaw the kit!

didn't the 18" aspecs have 235/40/18 as the stock size? i'd imagine he went with the size he has because of that. just guessing tho...

+100...dropping the car will set ur car off looking proper

and i like those wheels...they look good.

Those rims are nice, but whenever you see them in pictures, they have crazy offset and widths that's why it's hard to match. They don't look that bad on your car but I'm not a fan of black rims to begin with. Like everyone else, you just need to mod it a bit more and it will be nicer.

do ur roof in black vinyl to match ur wheels...i think it would look good. however, i'm slightly biased when it comes to the black vinyl roof look. anyways, just throwin it out there.

hey jackass, if you are going to play the legit wheel card, these aren't lm reps. they are rs-gt reps.

second, why the fuck do you care anyway? calm down and let him do him. you do you.

third, NEVER judge how a wheel will actually look until the car is lowered. it changes the whole dynamic.

tsingh....we got your back bro LOL....

btw yeah I complied a list of things you could do to make your setup look good....:

1> Coilovers/Springs/whatever floats your boat
2> Black your roof
3> Switch you sidemarkers and tail light for some blacked out ones from USR
4> Blackout your headlights
5> Add Accord Fogs

Points 1/2 are a mandatory or you will be banned....3-5 are optional

once ur lowered it will change everything.

It's like a girls make up, she can be ugly as hell but once she puts make up on you can't tell that she was ugly.

+1. Nicely expressed veggiemonster!! And tsingh, you do the mods swoosh recommends, which will not be that expensive, and it will make a world of difference to the car!! Have fun doing the mods, it's therapy!!

Tsingh, with a drop the chrome rim on the wheels will compliment the color of your TL. Keep up the good work, young squire!

many thanks for all of the comments and suggestions! rims are so subjective

i was thinking of h&r sport springs with the stock shocks. any feedback for this combo?

swoosh, john, not so sure about the black vinyl roof, but will look into it more.

i've always wanted to add the accord fogs, but have never mustered the strength to do that

hey jackass? haha you are the one who should relax, he posted pics of his new wheels and I didn't like them. This is a forum where people do that, post pics and other people comment. Not everyone is gonna like everyone's style. If he like them more power to him, but you seem more butt hurt over my comment then he is, so you should be the one that needs to calm down.

OP maybe if you lowered the car they would look, I don't know, it's just not my style and I don't think they flow nice the way the car is right now. Glad that you can take a comment like an adult and not have an E-freakout haha

you sir, have absolutely zero idea what you are talking about.

lm reps are expensive as hell. do you know how hard it is to get an ACTUAL replica of an LM? there are literally zero left to buy new, because BBS sued the shit out of everyone. so many replica companies went under for making them....

so your 'cheap' comment is purely based on taste, which is subjective, yes, but you are ignorant about it. you can say "not my style" but you don't insult them while doing it. and if you are going to try and be an e-dick and call a fellow member cheap, reference the right things. which is why i called you a jackass, since LM's are the most recognized wheel style in the world.

I didn't call anyone cheap, I said the wheels are cheap looking. I would be insulting him if I had said that he was cheap because he got XXR and not a more expensive brand. And that's not the case. But anyway, I don't wanna do this in his wheel thread.

veggiemonster,
thanks for the suggestions and continued support!

a buddy at work can help with the springs, i think i'll try that route

btw, these rims are called chromium black, but are more like a dark grey color. not sure if that's evident in the pictures

i think the wheels would look a lot better with a drop. and dont worry about the haters calling your wheels cheap. not everybody wants to spend 3k on rims. if you are looking for a mild drop I am going to be selling my full aspec suspension in the next two or three weeks once I install my ht spec coilovers I just got. pm me if you are interested. I'm looking to get about 250 plus shipping for shocks and springs. its about a 1 " drop

not a fan of the chrome lip, and they look a little small at your current ride height. but aside from those issues i think its a pretty good looking wheel, though i much prefer concave to convex wheels.

a drop should fix any aesthetic issues with the wheels

^exactly..... just because they arnt extreme sizes and right on the verge of rubbing... doesn't mean it doesnt look good.

after coming back and seeing it for the 3rd time.. i think it definitely looks good on the car. So when are you lowering it? lol

been thinking about the drop more. i've confused myself, and it apparently does not take much

not sure if I should get the neuspeed kit (koni yellows + neuspeed sports f-1.75, r1.5) or just the springs (h&r sports f-1.4, 1.3 or neuspeed sports)

neuspeed kit is ~700 shipped. this gives another 15 or 20mm option to lower

neuspeed sport springs ~200 shipped, but I guess the stock springs will wear out quicker due to larger drop

h&r sport springs ~220 shipped

the kit seems like a good deal, but not sure I actually need the shocks yet

Is it possible to fit the same wheels with the 20x11 (+15) in back and 20x9 (+35) in front?
