Thanks very much, man. I'm generally not a fan of black on black, but I thought with the right size wheel, and drop and the glossy black...it works.

PS...had someone PM me about this and forgot to include.

I have factory Brembos and NO spacers, NO fender rolling, and even with camber kit and the rear at -.8 I didn't have to raise the car up at all from where it sat with the Aspecs.

Drop Type - Tein High.Tech

Those are those Luxury drop springs, right? The gold ones... They only give approx. .5 drop to keep the ride... But dam! .5 isn't nothing and hardly noticable. Do you notice any difference in person?

Yes, they are the gold ones and they actually drop more than 0.5. If you go look at my thread, you'll see a before and after picture of the drop.

^^^Looks great, wait till you get a drop. I know this is a crazy cost incurred, but have you thought about color matching your spokes to the Carbon Bronze Pearl? Not the lips, just spokes. I almost got these in flat bronze, but ended up with some other wheels.

Congrats!

I haven't the foggiest Idea...but I KNOW it would look great...maybe even just have them painted or a diy.

Are you HANDY? Tape off lips...then see about finding CBP on paintscratch.com order 2 cans...hit it with a coat of primer, Then the CBP, then 3 or 4 coats of clearcoat...then lightly wetsand and polish/buff (if it even needs it, it probably wont since it's on the rim and the surface is totally smooth). Take your time, do light coats and wait the alotted time for it to dry between coats.

Trust me, this surface is not that succeptible to rockchips or anything since it's sideways on the car.

BEST part...you hate it or you get bored of it, a can of goof off will take it right back to the original silver.

That's how I would do it at least. I like fully reversible mods without too much trouble.

J.

sounds like a good DIY mod and yea i am pretty handy at times! haha i will have to look into that i think it would look pretty trick like ur saying....

yea u scored pretty good on your rims i read your thread on them and they look sweet... your rims are one of the few that i actually like in black.... not a big fan of black but those look really sporty and agressive... i am glad i went with 19's i think they look best on our TL's

Thanks man!
Yeah, if you go paintshop, you'll probably pay 300-600 to have it done. AND, i think they will probably scuff the metal to get the adhesion. I tend to like the ability to remove the paint. Little by little...it looks great even just silver.

Seriously...I was between these willows...the work wheels...and some xxr's that were super cheap. But they didn't make 19's in bronze and I didnt' like the gold. The willows I DID like but I had been watching this WORK wheel thread for like 9 months thinking about it...when the time came for tires, dude dropped the price to the point where it was the same price for WORK wheels as for the TSW's...so I figured I'd give it a shot.

To be TOTALLY honest...I've always said, Ill NEVER have a black car...bam...black car...I'll NEVER have black rims (since you can't see the detail of them etc) BAM black rims. Had to eat my words. I thought the wheels were a dark chrome in the pics on the forum. When I got them I realized they were black, but it was too late. With the blue and the right drop, I thought I'd be able to pull it off. Turns out someone had these custom painted gloss black because the Work rep told me they don't make that color. Whatever...once mounted and put on...I was in love...the pics do it a LITTLE justice...trust me, in person and when rolling, they look great. At least to me (says the guy that just dropped 1800 bucks on them).

Anyway...take care, nice chatting and keep up the great work. I was inches from trading for an 07 CBP TLS...but to go from owing 12K to 28K was not a bright idea...not for a color switch (which is what it was for me) and basically the same car.

totally hear u rockstar143 your car is one of the few that can pull of the black on black look without looking "hood" haha... good job for sure!!! what did u use to lower your ride?? I wana go low but dont really want issues with rolling fenders and what not.... im willing to drop the cash on a coilover if its that much better?? Im thinking a 1.5"-2" drop would set it off

i got this car new in sept 07 always loved the TL's and once i saw they had a S type i had to get it.... i always had trucks before which i had lowered and modded as well so modding is nothing new but a car has been and it has been great! only wish it was RWD haha

I've been cheap springs that I cut...never again
I've been good springs that can't be adjusted, never again
I've been cheap coilovers, never again.
I'm on Tein SS...simple...good quality...and I kid you not, the ride is VERY similar to how it was at stock height. I've got no fender rolling done, I'm dropped to where I have NO wheelgap, and it's fully adjustable, height AND the ride harshness. Can't go wrong.

With your wheels though, you MAY stick out a bit in the rear so you may need rolling if you slam it that much. But fender rolling is pretty cheap to have done by someone...50 bucks if you really HAVE to...whatever it takes to get that perfect stance for the car!

J. That said, I have seen many forum members with great looking drops on just springs. I just don't like the lack of adjustability.

And again, thank you for the compliment very much. It looks hood at first, but when you look again and see it's a quality wheel that looks huge and gloss, you kinda realize I didn't spray paint black on some stock steel wheels from a 97 accord. lol (had that too). You'd be surprised how many older people I've noticed turning around and checking out the car. Pretty cool!

ok cool i will look into those Tein SS yea back end looks if i go to low the tire may rub fender but if rolling is cheap then hey its worth the lil extra drop

what is the camber kit thing though sorry noob ? but how does it work cuz i know i dont want it lookin all toed in and ruining my tires fast

Dude...don't be afraid: We all were noobs at something once, are noobs at something now and will be noobs are something in the future.
Camber kits are big words, solved by 80 bucks (ebay camber kit I opted to try and works fine) and another alignment (do yourself a favor if you get coilovers...get a 3 year alignment so you can take it back over and over again). So is fender rolling etc. It's all intimidating, but it's all very simple.

About tire wear...a vendor on here Mr. Heeltoe...check out this informative post he made. It will answer ALL camber questions. This article originally had me without a camber kit, it's that good. Once I had to pay for another alignment though, I figured I'd throw one on but it was a year later and it was because I threw the TOE out when I relowered the car.
