I went to Wheelworks the last time I needed new tires - hit a pothole. They matched the Tirerack price too with free tire rotations.

Check out mavis tire locations. Also check out treadepot.com and tire-easy.com
You just gotta do a lot of research.

If you could make the trip to CT from NYC... Town Fair Tire matches online pricing and you get all their guarantees? I haven't been there for my TL yet but planning on heading over in the next couple weeks

America's Tire/Discount Tire. I just bought some 245/40/R18 Pirelli P6s for my A-Specs there and they match anyone's price.

No DTC/ATC's in New York. I never recommend buying from online dealers. Once you factor in the cost of installation and regular maintenance you're not really saving any money. Plus, if you ever need any warranty work concerning road hazard, treadwear or defects your pretty much screwed. Do your research online to figure out what tires you want and then find a large local chain that matches TireRack's prices. Make sure your purchase includes free servicing and a road hazard warranty and you'll be set.

Costco only sells Michelin, BFG and recently a select few Bridgestone tires. They'll only sell and install tires that match the exact specifications of your OE tires and they'll dick you on your treadlife warranty.

Call the Mavis Tire's 800# and ask for Mark J. Tell him you were recommended by the Acura forum.

I'm sure Discount Tire and Tire Rack are reputable dealers, but I like the idea of buying the tires from whomever installs them. That way, you'll only have one entity to deal with if there's ever a problem.

Discounttire has an ebay account... I use the bing.com rebate

Last month I bought 4 yokohama avid h4s for the hooptie

They were $428 shipped
On discounttire's website they had $40 off the purchase of 4 yoko... So I first paid thru paypal on eBay... $428 - 8% (in 60 days)
Then also substract $40 from that cuz they sent me a check around 2 weeks after I mailed in the rebate form

Comes out to just over $350 for 4 tires

I like costco to buy electronics and such, but I'd never buy tires from those fools. Last time I did that, I told them I wanted them to thread the lugs by hand. Those fools threaded them by hand, but neglected to torque them...

I'm the anal guy that brings a torque wrench with me, and checks the lugs in the parking lot to make sure they aren't cross threaded... Well, when they pulled my car around, I went to check the lugs, and several of them weren't even finger tight... They were loose on the stud...

I live in Chicago; a high rise downtown. I ordered 4 tires from the Tire Rack late in the afternoon and they were sitting in my lobby by noon the following day. The price was right too.

Haha yeah i had a similar experiencing ordering winter tires+rims last November from Tirerack. Ordered them Tuesday morning and they were at my door Wednesday. Took me by surprise, i'm just so used to waiting when ordering from the internet haha.

I think they have a distributor in South Bend, Indiana (150 miles away). Regardless top notch service.

Actually their entire Corporate Headquarters and Main Distribution Center are located in South Bend, so that's one of the reasons why your service was so quick.

Regardless though, Tirerack provides truly excellent service and has so many connections with distributors throughout the country that any order is usually at the doorstep within two to three business days. They're the only place I'll order tires from because their prices and service how won me over through the years.

One of the most overlooked, and yet at the top of priorities is a proper balance.

If the shop doesn't have a Hunter Roadforce machine....pass it by.

There have been so many problems voiced on this forum caused by an incorrect balance

I always go to Tire Rack. Of course it helps that I live in Chicago and South Bend isn't too far away. But they definitely offer the best customer service I've encountered and have pretty good prices on top of it.

FYI, your local Sears automotive center will match Tirerack.com or any legitimate online dealer's prices.

I'm looking at getting some Falken ZE-912's for my 17's 245/45 and went to the local Rent & Roll and they quoted me $625 mounted and balance. Discounttire.com has them for $109 each shipped I believe and the local tire place will mount and balance for $80. So, ending cost will be $520 which is a $100 saving for me.
