New tires finally

Hey all, I am finally ready to replace my POS OEM Bridgestones. I am narrowing down my tire choices, to the following:

-Mich Pilot Sport A/S
-Pirelli PZero Nero M&S
-Kumho ECSTA

I am also toying with increasing the tire size, I have the stock 17x8's and I am considering 245/45's instead of the stock 235 section width. Has anyone done so, and what are your thoughts now? Thanks, have a great holiday weekend.

I just purchased a new set of Toyo Proxes 4 with 245/45/17. The look a lot beefier, which I really like. The handling is awesome, I'm still trying to get the tires to talk to me around corners. But so far nothing.

I am so glad these tires, or any other tires than the EL42s. I actually enjoy the handling now.

Look at the Toyos, I really like the tread pattern and the 4-seasons too.

Get the Pirellies, I have them and love 'em. It's considerably cheaper than Pilots.

I will say that I'm glad I took the advise of many here and bought the PZero's, so far they've given me one more reason to love to drive the TL and to smile at the car as I'm walking to it from wherever I park.........
But I'm pretty sure those that chose the other ones will say the same thing...

Question Flatspotting with Toyo, Pirelli, Kumho or Continental?

Looking for new tires too and considering these four.

-Toyo Proxes 4
-Pirelli PZero Nero M&S
-Kumho ECSTA ASX
-Continental ContiExtremeContact

My question to current owners who have owned these tires over the winter is - did you experience any flatspotting?

I haven't experienced any flatspotting with the KUMHO's. I'm satisfied with these tires & waiting to see how many miles I can put on these. I put about 39,000 miles on the OEM tires on my 2004 TL.

very minor flatspotting with the NERO M+S. It's gone after a few miles.

the Toyo T1R is better than all of the above if you are looking for performance and looks. The treadwear is the lowest of the bunch, but they are a mean tire for you money.

I am also looking to replace the crappy EL42s. I noticed on tirerack today that the Pirelli PZero Nero also comes in a RunFlat. What does everybody think about that idea? I would think the car would ride like crap as the suspension was not designed for a runflat. But being able to ditch the spare would save a few pounds

if you have an 06 i'd look into the compatability with the TPMS sensors. I have never been a supporter of run flats, so i'd say stay away.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking.

Either way, I have to make up my mind soon. Living in Miami I have no need for A/S tires, but I drive 25K+ a year... I really want the PS2s but I also want a tire that will last more than a year. Decisions, decisions...

Toyo T1R is a summer tire. The others I listed are all-seasons.
