I recently bought a 2005 Acura TL and I am in need of new tires. I still have the factory 17" rims. I live in Indiana so it needs to be a tire to handle hot, cold, rainy, and snow. I don't know what tires come stock on these cars and the tires that are on it are mixed matched so idk what works well with these cars. Anyone with some help??

The Continental Extreme Contact DWS's are the most popular all season tire with AZiners. They're also rated one of the top ultra-high performance all season tires by Consumer Reports.
I swear by 'em !

Does anyone have goodyear eagle gts?

There are several other tire threads that already answer your questions. Cheap'ish and good reviews are the DWS. There are posts/reviews about the GY Eagle GTs getting very noisy early on. I would highly suggest reading through the other tire threads, identify what traits are important to you in a tire, and make an educated guess/decision from there.

If snow is a priority, get the DWS. Otherwise there are plenty of others. IIRC the goodyear f1 AS got 2nd place in the snow test, but still beat by a large margin.

based on where you live...conti DWS will fit the bill.
stay away from the good year eagle GTs. TLs for whatever reason...bad match. they will get noisy (the aggressive tread pattern seems to contirbute to this) and the treadwear is HORRIBLE. my TL ate through a set of eagle GTs in 9k miles.
hard lesson to learn (yes i had an alignment at time of install). in less than a year's time...gone.
stock OEM tires are horrible on the TL.
early reviews on the nitto motivos look promising. this is another option. or the michelins pilot sports a/s. depends on what you really want out of the tire and your budget.

I want a quiet, long lasting, performance tire that works well wet, snow, or dry. I dont want a winter specific tire, just something that is more all season that performs well in all circumstances. I dont want to switch tires for winter/summer. Any thoughts on pirelli pnero zero AS??

i would go with the DWS. best bang for buck. quiet, high treadwear rating (50k miles), D(ry), W(et), S(now)....if you're not that into cornering...then dont' worry too much about the "soft" sidewalls. you might want to up the PSI +2 with these to firm them up a little.
based on tirerack rating the pirelli's didn't quite rate at the top of the UHP category. the bridgestone 970 a/s ranked 1, with the DWS at 2...the pirelli's were ranked 6. the pilots were ranked 5.

it's a car-drive it
I do not own a TL but with my 06 tsx I now have Yokohama Envigor tires. They replaced the Yokohama Avid 4vs tires I had on it. They lasted 70k miles. Yokohama discontinued making them. My husband and drove many times in Indiana along with the other states. Have to say my husband was a excellent driver in snow. He also was not a fan of continental tires. The OEM Michelin tires that were on the tsx lasted 74k miles. We had excellent luck with them. Have 14k+miles on the envigor tires. So far excellent quiet tires, handle great on wet roads and cornering. Have not driven them in snow so no opinion on that. Will be in NJ/Pa for the holidays so I might be testing them in the snow. Hope not.

Great choice!! Enjoy and report back.

i was looking for that too but i gave up on dry and went with continental DWS.
and am extremely happy how it digs down to the bottom of puddles in heavy rain and zero hydroplane.
don't know snow but i drove through VA, WV, PA and NY when Sandy was hitting east coast. it was low-mid 30's and tires did okay. i wasn't sure if it would hold upto cold weather like winter tires do but i didn't crash so.

On dry, wet or snowy roads?
In spring, summer, fall or winter?
Per TireRack.com, the Bridgestone RE970 A/S Pole Positions tested better than the DWS in dry and wet conditions, but not tested in snowy conditions.

According to the survey results the Bridgestones are noticeably worse in light and heavy snow and on ice. But the survey results give a larger margin to the Bridgestones when it comes to dry/wet traction than the test results do (yeah, the scales are different too).
The Bridgestones also only have 5% of the survey miles that the DWS' do.

You will also lose 1.1 MPG using the Bridgestone vice the DWS according to the Tirerack.com testing.
If you have a lot of snow, I'd probably stick with the DWS'. If not, then I might be inclined to give the Bridgestones a try.

The Bridgestone's tested marginally better overall in dry/wet conditions (7.76 vs 7.59)...

I haven't driven on snow or ice on the RE970 and don't drive enough in snow with any tire to give any sort of opinion under those conditions.

The RE970s replaced the RE960 A/S either late last year or early this year, so fewer people have bought them than have bought the more established and slightly less expensive DWS.

lose 1.1 MPG by picking the bridgestones compared to the DWS?? Ok thats all i needed to know the DWS are cheaper, have great reviews, and I believe they will fit my conditions better. thanks for all the info and help. Im a new member and found this site to kick ass at getting opinions and real world testing and advice. much better than just using website recommendations.

Bridgestone does, because I have a set of the RE970's on my TL.
I always prefer instrumented testing (or testing with an experienced driver) to surveys of random owners, but I don't see many published tests involving all-season tires on snow or ice.
