New Tires
I just replaced my original tires 'ELS' after 14,500 miles with
Hankook H405s. It's too early to tell how they are . . . does
anybody else have experience with these?

R,
were they worn out - or did you just want the EL's off? Were these tires from a local dealer or did you purchase online?
Thanks. Sorry you asked a question and all you got was questions in return.
No I have not had experience with them, but I would like to look at them - as I anxiously await the day to retire mine. (Ha! I crack myself up - get it? Re-Tire mine)
Yeah, yeah I know, don't quit my day job!

I'm going in for first service soon and am going to try and get a new set of tires out of the dealer. I never realized how bad these EL's are in the rain.

My ELSs were worn out and had very little tread left on them after <
15,000 miles.
After driving on Sunday in Pittsburgh through a snowstorm on some
major hills, I decided to get the new tires on Monday.
My mechanic who has been working on my cars for about ten years
purchased and mounted them for me.

I almost bought the Hankooks but for 30bucks more per tire I went with the Falken Z-512s. They should be decent tires and should be better than the EL's. I couldn't stand the EL's as they were so slippery in the rain I had to change them out.

Any update on how the Hankook's are performing? Any flatspotting? How do they compare to the stock BS EL42's, quietness and ride comfort.
I know they are H-rated versus the W-rated EL42's, is handling about same?

Hankook update . . .
They seem to be a bit noiser than the ELs, but not bad. I haven't had any
problem with flatspotting or vibration with these, and considering the weather
has been very cold, between 10-25 F, in this respect they are a big improvement.
