My factory Michellins are about at the end of their useful tread life at 30K on the odometer, so I have been monitoring this forum and have noticed a few of you have opted to replace the standard factory size with a bit beefier rubber via the 245's. I am considering the Pirelli Neros and I am curious if a few owners of the larger aspect ratio size can provide me with some feedback regarding your experiences with the 245 size... Has there been any need to recalibrate allignment? Any increase in noise ? Any and all observatios to assist me with the decision are welcome ! Thanks

I put the 245/45/17 PZero Neros on about 2 1/2 months ago and have put about 5k miles on them since. Love 'em so far. They do well on these awesome roads we have here in OKC.
As for the extra width...definitely worth it! I managed to curb check my rear passenger tire the other day, and made it through with no rim damage. That was unheard of with the OEM Turanzas I had.
I don't notice any noise, but the Turanzas were pretty bad at 21k, so it was a big difference with the new rubber.
I did an alignment just for grins. The rear wheels were slightly out of camber, but nothing major.
I swore I'd never let Hibdons touch my car, but they were the only ones that would match Tirerack's price of $142 per tire. The one in Edmond on Broadway wouldn't do it, but the one over by Crossroads Mall did. If you call 'em, ask for Danny. I don't know him or anything, but he's who cut me the deal.
Good luck!

I chose the PZeros as well and went with the 245/45-17 and have nothing negative to say about them, except that if you park for a long time (12 hours or more) you will develop flat spots that go away once you start driving ( takes about a block for me ).
I drove them in torrential rain just last week and can add that they stick to the ground and therw as no hydroplaning at all...so in a nutshell they are worth every penny...bought them from Discount Tire Direct for $165 ea
Good luck

Do I correctly assume that the 245/45/17 will also have a slightly larger diameter than the factory 235/45/17...what does this do in terms of odometer, sppedometer, trip computer calculations, etc? I assume they're thrown off, but how much and is there any recalibration that can be done, either independently or through the dealer?
