New suspension closest to OEM

Hey all. I went to order the fully assembled front struts for my 08 TL. It looks like they no longer make the assembled version. Is there a good aftermarket kit in 2021 that is close to OEM? Or is it worth ordering the parts and assembling the struts my self from OEM components? I don't have a press or coil compressor tool but a buddy does. Not sure it's worth the time to make a trip to his garage though lol. What do you all think?

You can go with aftermarket but they are spec'ed for the accord and not for the TL so the suspension will be softer and you'll notice more body roll. FCS makes some great cheap assemblies that fit the TL and accord.

If you want something of OEM spec and quality, yes, you'll have to assemble them.

Otherwise, there are aftermarket options on rockauto.

So I understand there are aftermarket parts available. I am trying to ask if anyone knows of a close to OEM aftermarket brand. I figured with it being an 08 plenty of people have done something aftermarket.

I'm looking in the sense that there are better than oem mounts for this cars engine. Is there no aftermarket brand that makes a part as good as or better than oem for suspension on this vehicle?

@thoefke, I just checked Bernardi Parts and they are still showing fully assembled struts for the Type-S (the only struts I'd buy for any 3G TL); the fronts are going for $250.37 each and rear struts for $332.88 each.

No. There are no aftermarket suspensions that are overall "better" than OEM.

Unless you're looking for something that's "better" in one particular way, the factory suspension (just like any other part on the car) is the overall best part. That's why they came on the car from the factory.

What specific improvements are you looking for over the stock parts?

Your thread title just states "closest to OEM".

As stated by another poster...aftermarket parts will not be model/year specific like the OEM parts are. Aftermarket will be "close enough", so that you can use it on Accords, TSX's, all models of 04-08 TL's, probably a Yugo, maybe even a Jeep.

looking for "close to OEM", pick an aftermarket brand from Rockauto. Someone recommended FCS assemblies already.

If you're looking for something a bit more premium, Koni makes good shocks (assembly required). Some of their products are a lot of ways better than OEM. In other ways not as good as OEM (the coating is made from shit).

What's the hostility about? I know OEM came on the damn car because it's what works best. Hence why I asked what the closest aftermarket would be. I'm not looking for an improvement just something the same OR better if that was the only option. So my bad for fucking asking about car parts on a fucking car forum.

Any hostility you inferred is on your part, he simply answered your question..

Try reading it in a less hostile tone.

Maybe imagine a more soothing voice or something?

Like...when I read your massive over reaction, I did so in a Mr. Rodgers voice.

Neighbor.

Get a set of FCS's from rockauto. OEM quality at a terrific price! I have them and they're just fine. Why spend insane amounts of money?
