It is very unfortunate that we got stuck with those terrible EL 42, even the re-engineered ones. The new TU2 are not any better than the old PVC when it comes to harshness and tire roar/noise. Maybe I am more sensitive to it than most but I am checking out ratings and reviews on alternative tires. So far, according to our Tire Rack sources, the top rated tires are the Pirelli Zero Nero MS and the Michelin Pilot Sport AS. They have impressive reviews, especially in noise, ride, hydro resistance and handling. But has anybody heard anything more about tramlining tendencies on coarse roads by either tire?? Please let me know if there are other good choices out there. My main objective is to have a good handling, quiet tire that can handle wet conditions well since I live in rainy Florida. Your help is greatly appreciated. Regards

TLVR,

Go to www.1010tires.com & www.toyo.com. Look at Falken ZE-512(1010tires.com), many people & Consumer Reports state that this is the best all around tires. I personally prefer Toyo Proxies 4. I had them for my 01-CL 16" before I traded the car in for a TL. They have very aggressive groove pattern for wet traction (see pics @ toyo.com). I loved those tires but, too bad I couldn't carry them over.
