I have a 2004 TL, since new. It was giving me about 16 to 19 miles per gallon. I changed all the 02 sensors, treated the fuel system and immediately I noticed a better performance. I am getting around 24miles per gallon, and I am easing on the pedal too!!everything is part of this, tire air pressure, oil change, air filter etc. Hope you enjoy that TL-S, it is a very nice car!!

I did Duralast C-Max Golds because of the lifetime warranty (already on my 3rd set).

Keep your foot out of it. I usually get 18-19 around town, well into the 20s on highway. Usually average 21-23 combined.

Congrats on the purchase. As far as city fuel economy I'm always wondering why people gripe about that. First off it's the city, so for example if your stopped 90% of the time it is never going to get good fuel economy so depending on the driving that may actually be pretty good. If you were getting that out in the suburbs then I would be a bit worried. There isn't really anything you can do to increase efficiency besides keep up with maintainence, proper tire inflation, and using the recommended fuel.

As for he pads, I prefer oem rotors and pads, they work damn good IMO, and you can't go wrong with brembo. I once tried autozones cmax ceramic pads and was disappointed. They did not have anywhere near the bite as the oem pads.

+1 - As much dust as the OEM pads put out, they're freaking amazing in my opinion. I love the grip they get and I never have to worry about any noise.

OEM is always the right way to go, but in my last brake pad change I went with the Adaptive One pads and no complaints so far. The braking is great and no noise. Still the OEM should be the right choice, but with a little research in aftermarket pad alternatives, the are several excellent choices besides OEM. Same it the rotors!!
