Does this sound right? I thought A spec and MT were basically the same. Hrmm
there are a few different variations of the stock set.

BASE....MT and AT.
TYPE-S
and Aspec

4 different OEM shock and spring combos that were available for the TL from the Honda factory.....

it makes sense to swap from BASE to ASPEC!
because the Aspec set was track tuned.
the ASPEC is stiffer and lower just a enough to gain a faster time through the willow springs track

all 04-08 TL's shocks are interchangeable.

you could have 1 piece from each of the 4 different sets and wouldnt know the difference

let's talk about the fact that they tried to steal from you.

overcharging should be the same as stealing.

My front driver side just went out at nearly 110,000. Funny thing is that it was just at the dealership for brakes and then at the tire place for new tires. Seems too much of a coincidence. I have a feeling something happened being up on the rack.

Found this site:

Acura Parts & Accessories - Genuine Factory OEM | Acurapartsworld.com

My local dealer pricing for 2 complete assemblies is $509.08 out the door. This site was ~$376.54 including shipping. Seems like a good price from what I've seen online.

FYI...The shock died at about 109,700 actual miles, and is original.

Update...

OK...I tried to call the place I listed below today, just to ask a couple of questions (and make sure they're legit!), every time I called, seemed like someone picked up the phone and hung up.

Sooo...I did a quick search and fond another place, in AZ, and the pricing was a bit less. However, since they are closer to me in So-CAL, the shipping was cheaper also. Someone actually picked up the phone, and I ended up ordered 2 front shock assemblies and front brake pads for a total of $387.10.

I'll report back if I have any issues. The Website for this place is:

Acura Parts OEM Acura Parts Factory Acura Parts
