Need your help! Creating a 6MT wheel list

I have been looking for quite some time for wheels for my 2006 6MT and have come up very few options. The problem, of course, is fitment for the OEM Brembo's and the TPMS.

The "New Wheel/Tire specs thread with pics" thread has been helpful, but sorting thru for 6MT's is not easy, and there aren't many examples..

I was hoping to solicit for descriptions of wheels with 100% KNOWN fitments for the 2004-2007 6MT. I am hoping to collect a list of wheels at varying sizes and then put it together into a comprehensive database to post on Acurazine!

All this to help other 6MT owners! Will you help me?

If you will, please post/send me:

1. TL model year
2. Wheel manufacturer
3. Wheel name
4. Size/width
5. Tire size
6. Spacer?
7. Clears Brembos?
8. TPMS compatible?

Thanks!!

You did not lilst a price range nor size. If your seeking 19's and what the wheels themselves under $900, you can go the Privat Netz route that many of us have done. If your willing to spend $2,400 to $4K on the wheels you can get pretty much any of the custom made ones. The Netz are a 30 offset and (I believe) are fine with the Brembo's as other 6MT owners are running them. I have the Auto so can't guide you there.

I think this is a great database for 6MT drivers. It's pretty frustrating finding wheels to fit over the brakes.

Sorry but I had to choose a more spendy wheel.

1. TL model year: 2005
2. Wheel manufacturer: SSR
3. Wheel name: Competition
4. Size/width: 18x8.5 inches
5. Tire size: 245/40/18
6. Spacer? no
7. Clears Brembos? Yes!
8. TPMS compatible? No, at least I don't think so

another spec you want people to post is the wheel's offset. Which is relative to the width of the wheel.

Without offset wheels with the same size/width might clear the brembo for one and not for the other.

Where to buy those wheels should be on there as well.

Quantum tek makes rims that fit. I dont have a 6sd, but had a 3000gt vr4 (which also have the 4 piston brakes), there are only a few 17" rims that fit that car, and quantum tek s-08, I believe the offset if 40mm.

Quantum Tek s-08's, these are 17x7.5 (but also come in 18's) with 40 mm offset.

I know everyone has their own opinion but those Quantum Tec's look FUGLY (Squared) to me. and I am a guy that generally LIKES the blacked out look others have done on here. Sorry dude but you could not PAY me for those things!

They look like an off-roading tire. Maybe they'd work as winter rims but other than that....Ugh!

I am not complaining since they didnt cost anything. Since the rims were from my other car, they are free . I have recieved many complements on them, to every man has his own... And yes they are a very agressive winter radial tire, these bad boys pushed my vr4 through over 18" of unplowed snow, lol, it was actually coming over my hood.

A lot of Japanese rims such as Rays Engineering products (Volk Racing, G-Games, etc), Work, and Hart rims should clear the calipers if they offer the high pad/disc design. This is because quite a number of Japanese cars have multi piston calipers but also need higher offset, especially those FWD-based performance sedans like the Evo.

The following is what I have on my car.
1. TL model year: 2005
2. Wheel manufacturer: Rays Engineering
3. Wheel name: Volk Racing GT-V
4. Size/width: 19x8.5 +35 offset
5. Tire size: 245/35 R19 Dunlop Direzza DZ101
6. Spacer: No
7. Clears Brembos: Yes
8. TPMS compatible: Not sure

That's cool. Sorry for the earlier flaming (must've been a bad day for me). They do look like they could drive through a ton of snow or mudd. I think your also the one looking at a friends A-Spec and if you could pick those up (between $400 and $600 for the set - scratched or repaired) for summer time I think you'd be set.

Not a problem. They are quite an agressive design, but are fairly quiet. Im not sure if I want those aspec rims or not, the curbing is not something I really like.
